Outgoing? Ruben Selles

Even if the rumours are true (a big if) it doesn’t mean the players are right and Selles is wrong. Look at the cult of personality Wilder has amongst the fanbase, now imagine how amplified that would be within the club. It could be that certain players and stuff were comfortable with how things were, and any change, no matter how logical, would be resisted.

With a close knit group such as footballers, it only takes a couple of senior players (ones that perhaps now find themselves on the bench) to stir the pot and sew division. Speaking as someone that came to manage a team whom had worked together for years and free to do what they wanted, I know first hand how suspicious and toxic towards any new personnel or ideas established groups can be.
could it be like our own version of the Leeds players and Clough

Cooper was sounded out about the job. He won't be coming here, and likely wouldn't ever touch us with a bargepole.
I'm not convinced on him anyway. He's had money wherever he's gone and inherited very good players. When a Swansea ran out of money he resigned because he knew they'd be less likely to be up near the top six which showed his lack of loyalty in my view.

Selles looks to be on a hiding to nothing at this point , given a job to do without the tools to do it.

Good on him to be forthright and frustrated , if he has recently been given assurances that he has the funds and backing I'm sure he'd say that rather than publicly telling COH to pull their finger out .

Either we make a swathe of signings as a result, or we don't.

We don't know if he's either getting the same silent treatment we are from COH or he's pushed them into action .

Either way he's playing a dangerous game with his new employers, but for the right reasons.

I don’t blame Selles, he’s doing his best. He may still turn it around if we get some players in?

I think responsibility lies with the owners.
If they were serious about promotion then for me Cooper or Dyche.

We don’t know if these two were even considered or interviewed? I just feel we would be in better shape if one of these were in charge
You blame the owners but perhaps they have made funds available and they are not getting used. Could the blame lays somewhere else ?

I think they’ve possibly made the funds available too late?

We should’ve been sorting the defence out weeks ago. Bindon aside, a RB and another 2 x CB’s still required. Possibly 3 CB’s should Robbo go?

I think they are. The players are much better than they are showing. We saw that last season.

But, we also saw the drop off in games, the heads going down, fitness issues, not being able to recover from a deficit and Wilder leaving seems to have been the latest excuse to 'phone it in' but on a more dramatic scale.

All that bullish language from Wilder, culture, strength all turns out to be a load of hot air, and proved to be so at the thick end of last season.

They're either bottling a battle, again, or simply unwilling to listen to anyone else.

Neither is acceptable from well paid professional footballers.

They didn't buy into a culture, they bought in to a cult, and it's the same with a sizeable proportion of the fan base too.

If anyone makes a company or club all about 'them', all we're seeing is the natural results of them not being there any longer.

The players have the power to remove a manger, but all I'm seeing is chronic self interest, lack of concern for United and kids throwing their teddies out of the pram.
It might be that some of the players either aren’t good enough or, more likely with most of our lot, too thick to be able to understand and execute what they are being asked to do. In either case, no fault attaches to them, that would be on the manager for thinking it’s possible to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.

But if any of them are dialling it in they should be immediately fucked off out of the club no matter who they are. We don’t want cheats and shit characters, which is what they would be.

If it was just one or a couple, I'd get it.

It isn't. It's group behaviour, where it's from I don't care tbh. Lack of effort and simple decision making is well within their grasp.

They've taken all the praise for years, soaked it up, but when it's going wrong, they've gone missing.

Echoes of Wilder at Wembley.

It sometimes takes time for things to work under a new manager for a variety of reasons. They've lost a couple of games. There's no need for conspiracy theories and all this other shite.
