Wages more than covered by previous departures I'm sure.

Id of started Hendrie over Monty atleast that cunt is more creative than Monty.

That's a bit nasty.

I will say though that we were crying out for some to run and create, so I'd have considered swapping Monty for Hendrie. I'd still have started with Monty for that grit we need, and he did put a few decent passes together.

Granted, I took the easy way out and watched it in the pub, so you can't see a lot of the movement off the ball, but it was alarming to see how little we created.

Derby were piss poor, and we looked worse.

Blackie's Derby comments

Kevin Blackwell was philosophical in his post-match comments after watching his Blades team lose at Derby.

Former United striker Rob Hulse scored the winner as United slipped to a 2-1 defeat in front of the Sky cameras at Pride Park on Saturday evening.

"We were a shadow of the team we normally are, it was a bad day at the office, everyone has them, ask Sir Alex Ferguson," stated Blackwell.

"It was sod's law, we were reminded of so many things in the build up to game, such as it was Paul Jewell who sent us down, it was a year since they had won and it was the 13th!

"But in all honesty, I can't say we deserved anything and credit must go to Derby."

In an incident-packed game, Blackwell believes the 'penalty' episode in the second half could have been significant.

Referee Chris Foy initially pointed to the spot after a clash between Rob Hulse and Matt Kilgallon but changed his mind after consultation with one of his assistants.

The Blades chief added: "The linesman didn't think it was a penalty, nor did the players. The referee was strong enough to change his mind but you have to wonder if it was a bad decision or not because we didn't get much else from him."

Starting to sound like him too.

I just posted on another thread that the one conclusion that i have made is that Blackwell is a manager in the mould on Neil Warnock. I have not come to this opinion lightly but i had feared it may be the case even before he joined the club.

I'm pleased to have such an enthusiastic bloke who genuinely cares for this club involved with the blades but i personally think he should be here as the assistant manager to someone who exudes more authority and has a better grasp of tactics.

I hope he proves me wrong.

Could be, but as i dont know what each player is on, cant say that past sales are paying their wages or if we are having to put more in for them....

Why weren't people commentating on blackwells tactics after the QPR and blackpool games?

Even if the wages were covered, its good finances.

There's me thinking the aim of the game wasn't just who managed to spend most without getting some back in :)

So, we lose a match and Blackwell is suddenly a Neil Warnock clone. Forgive me if i'm wrong, but first off isn't Neil Warnock the manager who has brought us most success recently? weren't people who hated Warnock giving Blackwell all the credit for when we did well?

Or do we just chop and change when it suits being able to slag someone off?

Blackwell has said the same as many on here and I have absolutely no doubt he's made the players aware that it just isn't good enough.

blackwell got it right most of last season when he came in and so far this season done well, but 2 bad games in all the time he's been here and he's getting slagged off, even some calling for his head!

what i ment by clone is the way he talks to the media the way he uses his subs and the Tactics that he bloody he uses that's why he is like Neil in a way.

3 bad Games actually we were p*ss poor at Birmingham there was no creativity or pace in the side.

Cardiff we looked more like a Rugby team than a football team we were garbage with no creativity until Cotterill came on.

Derby Wer were just Diabolical an absolute shambles even how Blackwell can come out and make excuses for that is beyond me.

3 bad games dont make a season. expect bad games, we aren't man utd.

No creativity against birmingham, yet we had far more shots on goal to their 1?
I must be doing something wrong at these games i go to, foxy sit me facing where this kingblade is next time so i can see this no creativity

He said to the media that we had a bad game. But refused to publicly slate his players.

Warnock has done this before, so have many other managers, what would you prefer he said?

Mr Robson chose to publicly have a go at them, that didn't seem to work too well did it?

monty played well today and was our best midfielder but same old long ball negativity from blackwell.

Well my heart bleeds for them god if they can't take abit of constructive criticism god help them.

sometimes they need a good kick up the arse though!!!

So he should slag them off in public? He'll have given them a good grilling behind closed doors, just as it should be.

Thought Monty was far from awful.

Fair enough he didn't set the world on fire but still had a pretty solid game.
