I'm a mug then, he was one of our better midfielders today. 4 passes in total went astray, 2 of which were actually good through-balls that no one gambled on/latched onto.

I watched the full match without blinkers on just a short time ago, he made more successfull passes (including many 5 yarders) than Speed and Quinn put together.

Still, they don't have the word Montgomery on their back. Could anyone also remind us the last time he played a first team game?

The tactics again were piss poor as well as the team selection but then again what are Blackwells options at the moment. I said it when we signed them Henderson is a poor mans Rob Hulse and as for Halford we may as well have kept Bromby, forget who made the cross and who scored they were never in the game after that. Replacing Tonge with Montgomery says it all for me, Blackwell is playing with tactics to suit what we have got rather than addressing the problem we have all known about for years. Until McCabe puts some real investment into the team nothing will change, like last year we are well in profit on our transfer dealings and year after year they tell us we can't find anything better than what we already have BOLLOCKS Paul Green cost Derby peanuts does anyone seriously believe he is not better than the likes of Monty, Spring, Halford etc. To rub salt into the wound a shit pot club not so far away are doing better than we are and they hav'nt got two ha'pennys to scratch their arses with. If "long enough" is any indication of time, you'd have been expecting James Beattie, Matt Killgallon and any other worthy member of our squad to have been out of the door at the first opportunity. Not actually bringing a few players in or even rumours of any funding.

Ahh so it's all Tonge's fault then, the point is we had a RB and two defensive minded players in midfield and a young lad who's never been a left winger and second half we chose to by-pass the lot of them untill we get some quality in who can put their foot on the ball and make things happen we are going to be stuck with these tactics. But yea your right we can't get better in than Tonge so he's either a world class player or we won't spend a bit of money which one does it for you ?

Attacking wise i think we were poor, and whoever said henderson and beattie upfront doesnt work, i don't think the ball was up our end enough to even see what they could do together, and when it was beattie delievered a cross on to henderson's head which the keeper had to save

So for you, were missing tonge. The tone when he gets the ball goes sideways. The tonge, who when played, got more of an attacking option with a 38 year old speed. A tonge that wont run at people. A tonge that wont head.

At least monty gave it a shot.


I know monty isnt the right option and it was bad tactics, but you cant blame everything on monty when he at least puts the effort in, unlike tonge has been.

well we cant spend money as its the loan at the moment, but koumas got injured leaving the brown deal up in the air.

True he should have had a replacement, maybe the brown deal was done until koumas getting injured. But we had hendrie on the bench i would have started alongside speed or monty.
