Maybe what's needed if its proven finishers we need. Speed merchants are £20k a week , if they score £40k. A misfiring awkward sod at £5k a week and £5k a goal given his record might make sense.

If he's going on a free he's certainly worth looking at.
Villa has destroyed him but there's talent there and clearly hunger to play considering he decided to go to Australia on loan last year rather than sit on his arse.

Not sure if he's the 'character' we like, he's fiery and from what I've read before quite opinionated but I've never known him to be a bad egg.
Just when Bruce falls out with someone that's normally that. Think Clough in that sense.

I think there's a player there and if we can get him for the right price we've potentially got one of the championship's deadliest strikers for free.

oh no, i would avoid him with a bargepole. he was alright for Fulham 3 years ago. but since he seems really disruptive at numerous clubs. bruce said he was unfit in jan 2017, dropped for continually missing training. then in march 2017 he made himself unveilable for personal reasons. then in November McCormack had been dropped from the Melbourne City squad for being exceptionally late to training

I'll take everything on board apart from that last line.
He was fantastic still in 15/16, scored 23 which prompted Villa to sign him for 14mil.
