Robinson gone

Perhaps the site owners could appoint a couple of moderators.

That way, the misplaced threads get moved/merged more quickly and the self-appointed moral guardians won't get worked up into such a state of righteous indignation usually reserved for robbers and murderers.
It's beyond a joke. Why anyone gives a fuck is beyond me, but surely it's a tad ironic to make enormous threads discussing nothing other than the OP being in the wrong section.

It must be something about the different way people view posts, but it's totally lost on me.

So go be clear then. A managerial change at United's next opponents has no relevance to Sheffield United whatsoever and should be under other football.

Are we allowed to mention the managerial change in the match day thread?

Are we allowed to mention who our next opponents are?

Jeez, some people on here need to get a fucking grip.

I have suggested this previously a couple of times too.

In addition to threads being moved to the correct section much quicker and pleasing those who it bothers, it would also be incredibly useful to get material potentially harmful to the site or its owners themselves deleted ASAP.

3 problems solved.

The worst part of it is, these misplaced threads are often posted by new members who probably haven't fully gotten to grips with the site yet.

In turn they get a barrage of snooty invective directed at them. And I would argue that displaying twattish attitudes to new members will damage the forum far more in the long run than a thread on a wrong part of it.

But ........"Robinson gone";

Is there anyone who couldn't quite work out what that was going to be about, and if uninterested, just not open the thread - really?

It doesn't need moderation , it needs people to get a fucking grip about what's important. :)

To be honest I think someone should contact the OP's job

Yep you have a good point I was just making the case for a few moderators to be added.

I'm not sure how much effort it requires to give a poster moderation abilities but I would guess minimal, and if nothing else it would be well worth it even for the point I made about the quick removal of harmful content that sometimes gets posted on here.

Quickly moving things to the correct section and pleasing those who it bothers (as well as avoiding threads like this where the inevitable who cares vs not much to ask argument ensues) would just be additional benefits.

Hope it works as well for them as it did for Shrewsbury last week ,
with the players trying hard to impress the new gaffer .
Other than that fuck em .

I'm sure you'll be able to guide our new posters to behave in a correct and polite way TD ,
Your opinions are always succinct and to the point , with never any derogatory comments concerning anyone ,
Well that's the arse licking out the way ,
By the way I was taught never to start a sentence with " And " , tsk . ;)

All of this could have gone in the other Robinson thread (that is also in the wrong section).

Such a waste.

For what it's worth this is an "other football" thread for def.
That'd be my Karl with a 'C' on his bike thread then posted yesterday then Mr D..

Just to clarity, I did consider posting it on the 'other football' section, but as my OP was obviously a question to members as to how they thought his departure would affect our next home game (or not), I decided it should go in this section as it's Blades related and current.

If I was simply informing the board that he was going to be sacked, I'd have put it in the 'other football' section, although in truth I wouldn't have been interested if we hadn't been playing them. Having administered a couple of forums myself, I know how easily they can mess up, so I'm as keen as anybody to keep threads in the right sections.

It's all rather unknowable. If the players were sick of the sight of Robinson, and disagreed with his tactics, then they could be a dangerous prospect after his sacking. If they were behind him then this might lower their spirit.

I'd certainly have preferred the dice not to be rolled before this game given their current form under him...

After five pages I am still confused.
Am I to understand that there is a dearth of Lemon Barley Water?

Firstly, 'unknowable' is one of my favourite words.

Secondly, it's up to the Blades to realise when the opposition might be rather more fired up than usual, match their increased endeavour and then outplay them with our superior quality. How nice to be able to contemplate that we can do that.

Que is Spanish for 'what'. A queue is a line of something, a cue is a signal that leads to an action.

You were after the latter. :)
Surely a cue is what earns Ronnie O'Sullivan his money
Que is the abbreviation of Quebec.used in such as rail travel and flights
