Robinson gone

When I saw Robinson had been sacked, a train of thought came in to my mind.

MK are a thoroughly modern franchise, supported by people whose full experience of football culture was learned from Sky TV, a club who are built from slick, imaginative business plans, and a franchise who are operated by a man who understands business but not football culture.

What would be ideal for them would be a manager full of plans, business plans, pathway for youth plans. A man who can encapsulate what he is intending to do with a succicient phrase or two, a man who can dismiss the negatitivity surrounds him when he knows that what he is doing is right when everyone else tells him that he is getting it wrong, a man who can head up the footballing arm of a modern franchise whilst looking suave and dapper in a sharp suit, a man who in his own mind can endeavour to make a franchise a resounding success.

The Brownie £10 is on the man who was hounded out of his previous club because of the negativity that pervaded the club and who ended up chastising the fans with a resounding "it is what it like here, it always has been, always will be', a man who in his last job who had to deal with people who openly mocked his philosophy, didn't have the mental capacity to understand why the saying 'pressure makes diamonds' could transpose to the success on the pitch of a football club, illiterate uneducated heathens who didn't understand the wisdom of geese and how it would bring greater glory for the greater good, and supporters who surely lived in run down hovels with no aspirations of bettering themselves because they didn't understand the biggest room in their own houses was the 'room for improvement'.

10/1, Footballs David Brent, and Footballs franchise. A match made in heaven.......

And, it's not a misplaced thread is it? Surely the loss of the manager from our next opponents is of direct relevance to our next match?
If Wilder had been sacked, should that have been in another section?
The worst part of it is, these misplaced threads are often posted by new members who probably haven't fully gotten to grips with the site yet.

In turn they get a barrage of snooty invective directed at them. And I would argue that displaying twattish attitudes to new members will damage the forum far more in the long run than a thread on a wrong part of it.

Forget about Karl Robinson leaving MK Dons, Paul Hurst has quit Grimsby today so they might be benefiting from New Manager Syndrome for their big game against us in the Checkatrade Trophy!

Thought he was in line for the Shrews job?

The trouble with not signing on at week-ends is that you can miss corking threads like this.

To be honest, I would have thought anything happening to MK Dons THIS WEEK is very much Blades related. They are our next opponents, what happens to them (this week only, obviously) is completely relevant to us.
Are we suggesting Roy's pre match "view from" isn't actually Blades Chat? Why should another clubs supporters views matter if the things actually relating to the team don't? Bizarre.

I agree but I can see why people think otherwise. That's the problem with other posters trying to 'police' the board; they try to impose their view of what is and isn't off topic. I've read posters justifying their interventions by saying 'the board is self policing' but my interpretation of that is that one should police oneself - post in the right forums and not subject other posters to personal abuse.
Foxy and Linz are the only two people who have the right to decide if a thread has been posted in the wrong forum. Yes, it's disrespectful when posters repeatedly post non Blades related shit in the Blades' forum but there are grey areas and sometimes people just make a mistake. I don't think it's appropriate for other posters to jump all over them about it. If you don't like it, press the report button and let the people who run the forum decide.

You'll be pleased to know that uber, in spite of the objection, as an anglicisation of a German term, does not necessitate the use of an umlaut.

I'm sorry for nothing.

I think if you Anglicised it you would need to put an 'e' after the 'u' so ueber

Firstly, 'unknowable' is one of my favourite words.

Secondly, it's up to the Blades to realise when the opposition might be rather more fired up than usual, match their increased endeavour and then outplay them with our superior quality. How nice to be able to contemplate that we can do that.

The secondly bit is the most important - at LAST we have a manager who realises this.

I got so pissed off with Clough and Adkins say "they're a good team" about the opposition.

Fuck that - match "these" teams with effort and our extra quality (that we do possess) will shine though.

It's a simple philosophy - one that CW understands.

Absolutely, but:

How dare you diminish the importance of "unknowable"! When we get to the bottom of it all you'll realise just how....

What?.....

Oh.....

Right, OK.

I've never seen it spelt that way and I'm not sure why you would. Uber is acceptable with or with the umlaut in English writing.

Richie Barker in temporary charge of MK Dons. That's all we need, a Wednesday fan all fired up to win against us on Saturday!

it comes from when typewriters started to be used, as you couldnt type an Umlaut the rule was to add an e after the letter as just putting u is incorrect and doesnt read well to German people, same for the ß you would replace that with ss

in modern days its now a problem with URLs, you certainly cant go having umlauts in those
