Finding another Championship club willing to take on his rehab on a loan basis could work out excellently for us. Either he's proved a busted flush but we haven't shouldered the risk of finding out, or he has a second wind and comes back raring to go. GLTTL

Great move if we can shift him. Never really rated him that highly before injury, but my god he's been terrible when he's played since.

I wish him the best as he seemed a decent lad, managed to squeeze a decent deal for himself last season when perhaps he should've been released last summer

I'd love to see him revive his career down there. I've said it on here before on other threads, but seeing him go down hurt at Luton in the Prem was just heart breaking. Hopefully, a move out of the spotlight for a while will do him good.

It was the Coventry away game that was the real blow wasnt it?

Possibly? I was only present for the Luton game, so that's the one that stuck in my memory. Watching him be carried past, face buried in his hands, clearly desperately upset that he'd gotten injured again, and having Luton fans jeer him as he went past them, was what really grew the soft spot I still have for him.

Yeah that wiped out the next 18 months of his career. Shocking for the lad as he was in really good form until then and was a shoe in for the Wales’ World Cup squad.

He may well have got a couple of World Cup appearances, which we can’t say about many of our serving players. I really feel for the guy, we can all see the drop off since his injuries but I wish him nothing but the best at QPR. Good luck Rhys I hope you smash it pal

That same incident is what caused me to develop a hard spot (no, that way) for Luton. Was delighted to see them get double-relegated after that the twats.

Now I am not saying this happened, but maybe he got a 3 year deal due to the negligent care he received…

I have no other reason to give him 3 years, but then again we did Shackleton as well.

We have given some strange contracts out over the years, whilst also not picking up decent players under our noses or highlighted by the fans who have subsequently gone onto big things. Some strange business (or conversely, not done) over the years by SUFC. Still what's done is done. Lets just get better.

Last chance saloon to save his career certainly at this level since his injuries. Good luck to him.

i hope he can get back to levels of the start of 2022. where he was very good. id say ours & wales's best defender. but sadly from the last 2 matches Cardiff & Bristol city. it looks like his talent went with his injury
