Outgoing? Peck

Peck had a good season for a young lad but I just don’t think he’s good enough to become a top level player. Can go headless chicken, can’t shoot, and gives the ball away a fair bit when he’s not passing it back or sideways. I think he’s at the height of his value now and I’d cash in IF it’s good money. I would not sell however if we get cheapskate offers. Also, Blaster is a far better player and (assuming) he recovers from his injury ok, Peck will be back on our bench next season.
Tripe.

I'm firmly of the belief that we shouldn't get too attached too early. Young lads, growing in the game and the better ones may not be here that long.
Seems a good lad but consistency is they key. This is only his opening season where he's shown promise.

What an absolutely ridiculous take! Are you McCabe in disguise?? Guy plays his first half season in the first team and he's reached his ceiling according to you!

I also love how the longer he's been out, the more Arblaster has turned into peak Steven Gerrard!!

Our fan base are absolutely Bladey Bonkers!!

I'll take a bet with anyone that Peck's career hits higher marks than Arblasters.
Roger....there's merit in both sides of the argument. Peck has had a remarkable season and he's an established Championship player at the age of 20. Hopefully he's got years of good football ahead of him.

However he does lack composure at times and his shooting and goal record was very poor last season.
In the end there was a reason Arsenal didn't keep him and that was probably because they didn't see him developing into a true top level player.

The important thing to remember with Sydie is he actually wants to move up if he can. Per my post back in April...
Fair play on the intel. Curious to know what the owners think is good value. Maintain anything less than £20/25 million is us being fleeced.

Totally get that, and in this day and age nuance is all but extinct. However, i know a good un when I see one, and all those faults you rightly highlight can/will be coached out of him and especially when training with better players...

Peck is a Star that we need to keep if we are going anywhere soon. Find better at what price?
You're right, but I'd also like to see us have a mgt structure (DoF) that can identify when the window is right to maximise the ROI on young players. So, as much as we'd like to keep Peck, if we can flip him for £20m this Summer, then we pocket the cash and bring the next one through.

That's how the teams we aspire to be (Brighton, Brentford) operate.

As much as we're fascinated with former Blades either managing us, or coming back to play for us, we also seem to have an unhealthy attitude to moving players on....

That was the Brentford way wasn't it? Develop and sell at a high price, then reinvest it smartly.

I think anything like £12-15m and he'll be gone to be honest

He's a non goal scoring midfielder who likes to try and pull the strings from deep and can put a foot in

I love him, but you can get players like him for ten a penny on the continent

Also, if selling him means we get to keep one of Souza or Hamer it's an absolute no brainer to let him go. He wouldn't be first choice if they stayed.

It's not a easy one to judge. I can see arguments for all of it. With little idea of our budget it's hard to say we need to sell one big one or not and that area of the pitch is probably our deepest in quality of Blaster is back at the start and able to perform strongly. If he is and nobody leaves peck won't be starting every game

It makes no sense to keep Peck if we lost none of the others considering how stacked we are there

It would mean he'll depreciate because he won't be playing games. I think it makes a lot of fiscal sense to cash in at this point, when his value as a second division player with his skill set is unlikely to get much higher

Just because West Ham are Premier League doesn't mean that we should be willing to let players go on the cheap. If they need players in like they say they do, it's their problem not ours. Although Peck came through Arsenal's academy we have done the latter work with him shaping him into the player he is. If West Ham want him, why should we sit back and say have him for £10 million. We are in a comfortable position this season at least to say we want £25million and nothing less, (with massive add ons). If we aren't promoted in 2026 then is the need to sell when players and if a bid came in for Peck, we would have to accept £10 mill but not now.

I didn’t realise Wilder’s replacement was Rachel Reeves.
