It's always fun when people decide that because you've made a point they don't agree with they can't have watched the games :)

At what point did I question either Holmes or Duffys ability? I just said that there is positional redundancy and that, in my opinion United could move one of them on and invest that resource elsewhere in the squad.

We didn't even see Holmes play 90 minutes so unless you're in training with them I can't see how we'd know very much about him at all. Duffy was fantastic last year and is well deserving of his starting spot. Neither of those facts means United couldn't sell one and keep the other
 
It would be a shame if we never got to see him weave some magic in a Blades shirt but I could see this happening and good luck to him and Southend if it does.

The most baffling episode of Wilder's tenure so far I my opinion. Sign a former player who seemingly ticks all the boxes in terms of talent, ability and attitude then barely give him a look in, even in games where we really really needed someone with a box of tricks to help us try and get something.

Personally I hope he stays though and plays a part. I happen to think there is room for him, Brookes and Duffy in our squad.

I think it tells you something about Wilder.
No favourites even if he rates them ,he obviously didn't do enough to be selected in the latter stages of the season .Doasnt mean his on his bike every player starts from scratch building up to the new season up to him and the rest to pin down a shirt, I like it that way and Wilder seems to .

Yeah I wouldn't disagree. I was just a bit surprised how it worked out. Still, as you say there is time for things to change.

Hope so. He was rubbish at Bradford midweek. Not fit to lace Duffys boots
 
Hope he leaves because that means we'll be bringing in a decent attacking midfielder.

True that. Wilder is doing his damnedest to move them on but sometimes the best you can do is get them off the wage bill.

Think we'll just have to take the hit on Lavery and release him eventually.

True, but we need to be more savvy when handing out contracts. Over the last few years we've had to pay off too many players to get them off the wage bill.
 
Fine, he's just not good enough if we want to be top half pushing higher. If him leaving free's up space for someone with pace to come in that's fine with me.
 
Agreed, most baffling signing in living memory.

Chased for best past of a year, snubbed in favour of Charlton, chased again, eventually got him.

Played away vs Wolves and was the only positive point for me, then never seen again.
 
Holmes if he stays will get opportunities I feel this season. If he does go I imagine it’ll be because another is lined up – Woodburn can play a number of positions including this one, and while I’d still be surprised if we got him, he would in my view be a definite upgrade.
 

Hearing and seeing the odd bit of news that Ricky Holmes been linked to Oxford on loan. Link up with Robinson again, and carruthers. If we get a CF or 2 I think this could happen.
