Think this is purely procedural based - Sure I read somewhere when all the points deduction stuff was ongoing that relegated teams aren’t officially confirmed until meeting of League in June which may explain why Archer is on retained list as of when list was submitted but once our relegation ratified by league then clause for Archers return will be activated as per contract between villa and ourselves

That was a very different situation though, in the case of Berge and Ndiaye we were desperate to keep them so they had all the power and we waited until the last minute to try and keep hold of them (probably the wrong way to go about it as it dropped us in it with no time to replace them but not my point).

With the players we have offered contracts to/are in discussion with now we are not desperate for them, we would just prefer to have them next season as they are known entities. With the scale of the rebuild needed we need to know quickly if they will be around or not so we can plan on who to get in. Wilder said in an interview recently that they wouldn't be overly pushy with players but that there would be deadlines and they wouldn't let players drag their heels too much.

He has pretty much said publicly himself he isn't done here and has bickered with people on social media that are claiming he is going.

I think the bigger concerns on the contract front are Egan and Jebbo. I think Wilder expected those to be done by now.

Everyone is in contract til the end of June - and just about everyone in football is on holiday at the minute, so i'd relax and wait for the first week in July when preseason starts and then it'll be clear whos at the club and who isnt

So.

1st July next week.

Let’s see exactly how shit our contract offers are when they get signed by players who are not as good as they think they are due to lack of alternative shit contract offers !!!

Yep and I included Seriki Bayabu and Hackford in the first iteration of this post, but since then the club announced The Retained List and omitted those players from any formal mention, so I followed suit.

I.e. hardly anyone in, no note of new training gear. So, keep it low key. Slow takeover, delayed recruitment as a result, same owd Errea punctuality.
