Not necessarily.Surely the fact we decided to release Osbourn tells us we have the funds available to replace him?

On what evidence are you judging the new recruitment team?If we had a recruitment team able to sign 14 decent players I’d agree. I don’t think we don’t & we also don’t have the finances while ever a takeover is looming.
The other issue is the players that are leaving are the only ones who had the cohesion within the previous squad.
Yes , plus Archer of course. So out of the retained lot, you can prob say Traore, Souza Grbic(hopefully) maybe Anel will be off aswell
Going to be a bumpy rideYes , plus Archer of course.
Then it depends on finances.
We might be vulnerable to offers for Hamer & Arblaster.
Basically , there is no real nucleus of a squad locked in place.
The spine (unless we keep our 2 stars) is poor.
Gbric awful.
Egan badly injured.
(Hamer & Arblaster might leave).
McBurnie regularly out injured.
As ever , it's all down to money.
Add Slimane to that, I reckonSo out of the retained lot, you can prob say Traore, Souza Grbic(hopefully) maybe Anel will be off aswell
Are you not judging the result before the game starts ?It's truly incredible after having had 5 years of premier league money and parachute payments this is the legacy we have from it.
Incredibly poorly run club.
It will be an achievement but not a good one ! It would be an achievement to come last, but this squad will not and with a small numbers of additions will be top 6.Going to be a bumpy ridelikeI keep saying mid table will be an achievement next season.
Justifiably yes I would say.Are you not judging the result before the game starts ?
Yes the spine of the team at the minute isn’t looking too good is it, a shit keeper, a centre half who might/might not be here, no tackling midfielder and a striker who may/may not be here![]()
Nope , just look at recent historyAre you not judging the result before the game starts ?
At Championship level it is far from threadbare. A few additions will make it top 6 or better. It is frustrating , but we will likely have no idea until 1 September , whether next season's squad are to be promotion contenders or relegation battlers.
Player power means that most clubs find it difficult to recruit early.
And we are in a bit of a mess.
How can Wilder sell the club to a potential signing when the squad is so threadbare ?
I don't envy his task.
Hopefully he at least has a clearly defined budget and can ignore the takeover talk.
After all , even if it happens , there is no guarantee that new owners would invest over & above the purchase price.
How recent ? The last 6 years which have been “ disastrous “ ?Nope , just look at recent history
I doubt very much we impose deadlines - look at Berge & NdiayeTells us what we already knew tbh, when do the players in negotiation have their deadline anyone know? Thought they would have done the youth teams one as well but hey ho
Hope we’re no where near top 6 a season of mediocrity will do me after this season. It will be an achievement but not a good one ! It would be an achievement to come last, but this squad will not and with a small numbers of additions will be top 6.
No. This is the squad we have. Hopefully it will be much stronger when the window shuts ( I am confident it will be!) but how many of those players are we worried about a premier league club wanting? Maybe Hamer and a youth prospect in Arblaster. Are you not judging the result before the game starts ?
I would say a couple of years , probably since the infamous press conference when the owner & board washed their hands , embarrassing attempts to sell the club to dodgy blokes , failure to pay for players , transfer embargo , points deduction , the Berge & Ndiaye story , failure to get players onto new contracts ...How recent ? The last 6 years which have been “ disastrous “ ?
I know we've had some bad luck with injuries but the current situation is very much the result of recruitment decisions and the way the squad has been allowed to deteriorate.No. This is the squad we have. Hopefully it will be much stronger when the window shuts ( I am confident it will be!) but how many of those players are we worried about a premier league club wanting? That's a piss poor legacy
Possibly my message was misleading,On what evidence are you judging the new recruitment team?
What's happening with the players who've been out on loan, i.e. Freckleton, Seriki, Buyabu, Boyes, Hackford, etc? All about the same age as Osula and Jebbison.![]()
Squad restructure
United can now confirm full details of the retained list that has been submitted to the relevant authorities following the conclusion of the 2022/23 campaign.www.sufc.co.uk
Last summer
You say reluctant, but don’t forget Archer was excellent at Championship level - yes this season has clearly been a poor one for him but if for some reason he is still our player next season and he can recapture that form, there’s no reason he can’t be one of the best strikers in the division. Is there a vague possibility that the club (us) and Archer may be reluctantly lumbered with each other?

Nope. Wrong conclusion.Surely the fact we decided to release Osbourn tells us we have the funds available to replace him?
