Nope 2 yearsDidn’t he sign a year extension in 2022?
We can only hope in hecky we finally have a manager with a ruthless streak , as a club we always seem to keep players past their sell by , whilst a lot of them have been great servants to the club there comes a point where even we see they're done, for me bash and Norwood should be very close to be released
Do you seriously think a player who appears quite regularly on SUTV, commenting on some of his mates performances and the team in general would simultaneously be pursuing legal action against the clubIf true about O'Connell, I imagine this is to further lessen the chance of some kind of lawsuit regarding his initial treatment.
Info.. Take it or leave it... wont reveal my source but they were very certain
Hecky only back from Holiday yesterday
Regards to the retained list... As expected
Fleck, Stevens and Sharp - Gone
Osborn offered new terms but rejected it - can only assume its to do with playing time
The real surprise for me was
O'Connell offered pay as you play to earn a contract
That's all I know - have a great day and UTB

I think your taking cynicism to new levels.
We have max 20 million to spend . If we replace Norwood for no real reason and have say 4/5 million to replace him. Who could we get that’s even 50% of the player he’s shown himself to be??
Conor Coady and convert him back to midfield.
You never know. I assume the club has arranged this kind of thing for him, if we tore up his contract and binned him off a while ago it would be happening for sure.Do you seriously think a player who appears quite regularly on SUTV, commenting on some of his mates performances and the team in general would simultaneously be pursuing legal action against the club.

And dont forget Billy to come of bench wowI think you may have something there Weasel - imagine the capacity crowd's reaction when Stevens, Fleck and Osborn are all announced in the starting line-up!!! Haha
Coady is a better player than Norwood and could play midfield or defence so is value for money as a utility player.I see. So we want to take a player who hasn’t played that position for about a decade (in league(s) below) and expect him to be better than Norwood.
We would then also have 4 million less to spend on defence / left back / striker.
He's not a better midfielder.Coady is a better player than Norwood and could play midfield or defence so is value for money as a utility player.

If the JOC news is true it's baffling. At best, he'll need to go out on loan for months to get back to any level of fitness. How would that work on a pay to play?Info.. Take it or leave it... wont reveal my source but they were very certain

I could just about stomach the wrong decision to extend Fleck & Osborn by a year , but if they get a "proper" new contract beyond a year , I will be VERY DISAPPOINTEDI believe we will release Sharp and Stevens.
I think we will give Fleck another year just cos we need numbers and are skint.
Reading about Norwood being able to invoke his own 1 year contract extension because he played in 50% or more of the games suggests Stevens, Fleck, Osborn and Billy have not met the criteria. I'm guessing the contract term referred to league starts and looking at the figures all of them except Sharp are way below the number of games required.I could just about stomach the wrong decision to extend Fleck & Osborn by a year , but if they get a "proper" new contract beyond a year , I will be VERY DISAPPOINTED
Never realised Captain Billy played in so many games. 42 out of 46 is testament to his fitness. He played an important part in our promotion, and it's a fitting swansong.Reading about Norwood being able to invoke his own 1 year contract extension because he played in 50% or more of the games suggests Stevens, Fleck, Osborn and Billy have not met the criteria. Stevens hardly kicked a ball for us last season. Fleck was involved in 25 league games with 14 starts 11 subs. Osborn 22 games with 13 starts and 9 subs. The captain was involved in 42 of the 46 games. Unfortunately only 19 were starts with 23 as sub so unlike the others he has fallen just below the bar. He made 2 starts in the cup and even that does not get him over the 50% threshold if you add in cup games to the total. We are talking about a years extension to existing contracts which no doubt will have an additional clause in that puts the player back on EPL money, probably double what they are on now, in the event of promotion. If this scenario is accurate you can understand Billys frustration that he has got so close.
That doesn't stop the Club offering a contract on new but probably much reduced terms as they appear to have in the case of Osborn if Rowt10's post is correct. So I doubt enhanced new contracts are being considered for any of the above.
I was shocked aswell because he only scored 3 goals aswell (I think).Never realised Captain Billy played in so many games. 42 out of 46 is testament to his fitness. He played an important part in our promotion, and it's a fitting swansong.
I'm sure he'll have been offered something here, but if he can earn similar at Bradford starting every week instead of not even being on the bench at the Lane, who can blame him?
Loads of those appearances were as a sub on 75-80 mins. He helped preserve those leads though, and inspired the team. Worked his arse off during the minutes he got, scrapped for every ball. He also had five or six chances where he missed by a whisker.I was shocked aswell because he only scored 3 goals aswell (I think).
‘Any level of fitness’? Have you not seen him these days? I would go as far to say he is the fittest player in the entire squad. Now if you actually meant game time, then that’s a different matter. If the JOC news is true it's baffling. At best, he'll need to go out on loan for months to get back to any level of fitness. Sarcastic disrespectful ****And dont forget Billy to come of bench wow
Sorry, that should have been match fitness. There's no way a player who has been out that long, with that kind of injury, can just play himself into a Premier League.‘Any level of fitness’? Just give him 60 mins at a time and watch the OPO players just bounce off him and run themselves into the ground.
Can he run and kick a ball though?View attachment 161994
