I don't want us to release it this pre season. I also want United to sign some players but not to tell the press or the fans who they are or how much they cost. Then all can be revealed at 3pm on the opening match of the season. Would be brilliant and the ground would be full for a change at kick off time. The endless rumours and counter arguments all summer would be fascinating.

He appoints people to run the club. Why does he need to be anywhere near Sheffield? Especially in these days of Zoom meetings? Do you think he shouldn’t have come to celebrate the promotion of the club he owns?

Fucking hell! Three things:

  • Imagine if he was asthmatic
  • A Spinal Tap moment would have been better
  • I'd love us to do that only for it to be revealed that Mousset has re-signed (if they could fit him in the tube, that is)

Ramsdale might have acted like a dick, but he’s a better keeper than Wes in my view.

Wes had done superbly, better than I thought he would and might well prove me wrong again in the Prem.

But my view currently is that he will be more exposed in that division, and in an ideal world we need another option. Davies isn’t that option. Some might say that he’s an internationally capped player, but so was Robin Olsen and he’s one of the worst keepers I’ve ever seen

I can’t remember Latedive saying anything in a lads price. My opinion of him as a duck is refusing to play when we were paying his wages. That said, it doesn’t change my opinion that with a better keeper, Arsenal may have managed to keep up with City for a bit longer.

Refreshing the left hand side should be a big priority

Stevens and Fleck 100% need to go

OBrien and Manning/Doig would be excellent signings of the right level and age to replace them and would probably stay if relegated

I think you may have something there Weasel - imagine the capacity crowd's reaction when Stevens, Fleck and Osborn are all announced in the starting line-up!!! Haha

Everyone back in the surrounding pubs at five past three? The sheer indignation and the amount of swearing coming out of Bramall Lane (and that's just from the other 8 teammates) would be quite something to see/hear. Let's do it.

C’mon then, what’s Osborn’s ‘very generous salary’ at United even in the Championship?
 
I honestly think that other than perhaps 2 or 3 players, those that leave will be because they have a better offer elsewhere given our circumstances. Perhaps the list isn't publicised as we are still hoping to tie a number of the undecided to new deals.

Or they find that Wilder has paid £20m each to sign McBurnie & Brewster in the summer for Hearts or wherever he ends up, and we signed Clark as a back up centre half!

Osborn offered new terms but rejected it - can only assume its to do with playing time

The real surprise for me was
O'Connell offered pay as you play to earn a contract

If true about O'Connell, I imagine this is to further lessen the chance of some kind of lawsuit regarding his initial treatment.

Yeah I thought about that as there was some speculation a while back regarding him being rushed back too soon and him seeking legal advice.

It could also be Hecky/blades wanting to give him a chance to earn a new proper contract - either way its an opportunity for him to continue for the time being at least at a premier league club.

Wonder if can get requestabet on Osborn to join Derby. Seems almost like free money.
 
We can only hope in hecky we finally have a manager with a ruthless streak , as a club we always seem to keep players past their sell by , whilst a lot of them have been great servants to the club there comes a point where even we see they're done, for me bash and Norwood should be very close to be released
 
O'Connell thing makes sense if there's even a faint whiff of a chance that he might come back with anything near his old ability. Especially as it sounds unlikely that we'll be able to name a full 25 man squad of genuine first team PL players.
 
Norwood worth keeping as we are light in numbers in midfield and he's a proper pro who passes on good habits to younger lads. Id definitely want us to keep him and use him as a fill in player rather than a starter. I would imagine that he has exercised an option which had been triggered after playing in a pre agreed number of games last season so probably a fairly quick one to resolve. Basham is still under contract and unless we pay him off (why would we?) He was always going to stay until next summer unless he decides to jump early next January window or another club wants to take him now (unlikely).

If ( and it's a big if) it is correct that Fleck, Stevens, Osborn and King Billy have all been let go then that seems sensible to me. All will be confirmed soon anyway. Let's hope common sense has prevailed.

We could have a nine figure transfer budget and we wouldn't be able to do that
