He’ll def get a well deserved & respectful clap from me before the game for giving me four 4 out of 5 seasons some of the best football I’ve seen in my 45 yrs attending The Lane , after all the debate over this that this last year we are as as club were in shite sight better place than we were when he took over & fact lost on many .

But after that & all said & done when the whistle blows he’s just another opposition manager who I hope we turn over tmmw ⚔️⚔️
This ^^^^
Glad I checked the ‘new messages’ before I posted mine. You’ve said everything I was about to.

Would be nice if we can have a moment of respect/applause for Chris tomorrow night

Seen on facebook few mention this , would be nice if we could get a rendition of Allez allez in the 9th minute for the 9th place finish in the premier league as a show of respect to our old boss

Personally I would find it weird to say thank you to him
A few loud as fuck renditions of "Hecky, Jack and Stuart McCall" would be far better imo

Suppose we ought to thank him for getting us out of league one.

Plus a little more, if my memory serves correctly.

If it were not for CW would be still be in League 1 like Sunderland ?

How many managers have managed to get us so high in the top flight in the last 50/70 years, still that's not good enough for many.

I've said it before and will say it again, I can't and won't give any sort of applause or appreciation to him. Would you give it to a partner who walked out on you and taking you for everything you built no. Memories are there but that's it. UTB FCW
Yesterday's heroes.... fuck him!

There are not many people who will actually know the truth behind how he left. The rest is just pure speculation or bitterness from people who fail to grasp the fact that he dragged us up to the top tier again against all odds.
Yes he made some poor decisions, yes he probably wishes it was all done differently and yes I’m sure that all those who slag him off would undoubtedly have done much better than him, pushed on and got us into Europe instead of relegation.

For all the positives he gave us, he deserves a warm welcome back to the Lane and i sincerely hope people stand and clap him to say thanks.

That is as far as it goes.

Once the match kicks off I hope we smash his side to pieces because as much as I respect and appreciate the man, he returns as Middlesbrough manager.

Watching a bit of this, reckon it will be weird for us and him.

Returning to the club closest to his heart and will be good to see familiar faces.
Thought the quote that about "good to see the immediate staff" is quite telling. Clearly not so bothered about those above.
So why pay him up ?
He may well have been owed money. Bonus l' not yet paid or even wages. Also prince mentioned he was given some share dealio.
It's very normal in football management.

Given the tellings off he head from above before he left wouldn't be surprised if it's almost constructive dismissal money.

One minute of furious wanking on the Kop.....

The sensible thing to do would be for the club to do a tannoy announcement just before kick-off. Get him to wander on to the edge of the pitch, give him a round of applause and then just get on with it. Maybe McBurnie can present him with a bunch of flowers?
McBurnie can present him with himself + leave the flowers for us - go on Chris , Tek him off our hands , why don't you ?

Wasn't he caught on camera at Palace, saying he couldn't do this anymore. Resulting in his first attempt to leave.
The man made a dog's breakfast from March 2020 - the 9th place is an illusion - we never expected Europe but HE DID ... then as JoC was noticeably crocked + we faded , the clown started calling out the players + the Board + once there was no one else to blame , he had to face the fact that his recruitment had fucked us ... At that point his tactics + interviews were getting bizarre , his brain melted + he just needed to get out. He loved the club but single handedly fucking up the thing you love is a guarantee of mental problems ... Just another bizarre chapter in the ridiculous history of dem Blades.

When we eventually get to know the truth behind his departure I will make up my own mind. If there is summat not right behind the scenes then the fans deserve to know. As it stands, Wilder, a Blade, signed an NDA and allegedly got a pay off. Not that he needed the money. That bit sticks in my throat a bit.
Anyway, he is now like the ex wife to me, someone I used to love and have good times with, turned into somebody I can no longer stand the sight of
I relate a lot to this, especially the bit on seeing Wilder as one would an ex-wife! I think he deserves a big clap from every Blade but at the same time I find it very hard to accept him managing another club when to me it's hard to understand why he'd want to leave United, but as I said on previous post, it must be that he no longer could work for the Prince, as opposed to no longer wanted to manage United, but ultimately they are the same thing in many ways.

For 4 out of 5 seasons I loved the football his teams played. He got us to the edge of Europe. We had some wonderful times.

His last season was a disaster. Terrible signings, stubbornness and petulance, along with tactical naivety. In the end he threw his toys out of the pram and stormed off, like a spoilt child.

I'll be applauding him for the good times though, and for some of the best football I've ever seen at the Lane.

Thanks for what he did blah, blah, blah but fuck him, he's getting nowt from me, the way he left leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. "One of our own" or not. I really hope we give him and his team a good pasting.

Must admit to have wondered who he would have bought in January to improve what we had. His track record of previous premiership signings hardly inspired me to believe he would have done no more than waste money.
we are in the shit financially now, if we had given him his requested war chest in the January we Would really be in the deep Gumby
He'll probably tell himself he was getting Lingard and look at what he did at West Ham. He could have kept us up.

Truth is Lingard would have still waited it out in the window and still joined West Ham.

He wasted our pulling power in the summer splurging 18m on Ramsdale, not courting any offer for Lundstram and failing to get in a decent left centre half and another midfielder, instead of the 23m on Brewster if needs be.

After such an abysmal start, the pragmatic thing to do was to swallow your pride, look to offload some players while they were still PL and had some goodwill behind them and start prepping for next year.

But he was looking at extremely expensive loan gambles on a fool's errand which would have crippled us for this season too.

Hard to believe it was the same bloke in charge. Then again, Nigel Clough had the same sort of summer before he left!
