It's all about class and dignity. Chelsea fans showed they have none by doing that.
We'd be best positioned to give Wilder the muted respect he deserves - yep, he signed some utter wank, played a busted system and refused to strategically change things once it was clear we were painfully found out and vulnerable. But he also took us from a game we looked like we were set to lose at Gillingham to ninth in the top flight of English football, which to me was a roller coaster of a ride matched only by Harris, Bassett and in a diminished way, Warnock. We can't change any of the past. Booing him for his failings is a bit cheap, especially as he still remains a Unitedite. Not saying we should sing his praises at all and no, he isn't 'one of our own' (far from it) but we can do ourselves a favour on camera by not sinking to the levels of Chelsea just to prove a point - a point of which there is no point. And if Boro beat us, we will look like cunts and he is suitably vindicated in his actions.
