This has been a wonderful watch. Beat Leicester on Thursday and the gap's down to 2 points! Huge ask, but certainly possible - the CL dream is not dead yet

I wonder whether privately Wilder thinks Leicester are the target and he hasn’t given up on us clinching the last CL spot. It might seem fanciful, but IF Leicester do drop pts vs a desperate (but improving) Bournemouth, then it’s very much game on when we play them on Thursday.

We’ve got to win our remaining games, obviously. But come Friday morning we might only be 3 points behind Leicester with them having Europe chasing Spurs and Man Utd to play.

Man Utd look strong to finish 4th but 5th could still be up for grabs. Many are fixated on us trying to qualify for the Europa, but whisper it quietly and there’s a bigger picture here.

Last season someone posted a 'fact' that statistically, mid table teams with nothing to play for achieve the worst results at the end of the season - as you'd expect, sides in the relegation battle lift their game and of course those at the top tend to do the same. This bodes well for us looking at those remaining fixtures.

In fact, this post is absolutely spot on when you look at today's results - mid table Palace and Everton were gash, whilst Villa and Bournemouth raised their game. If only i'd put a tenner on those three results.
