Where has Jeff Hendrick gone too on a free

I wouldn't touch Ben Foster with a barge pole . In most of the matches I've watched him play in this season he's been absolute rat shit , being caught flat footed time after time watching the ball go sailing past him whilst making no attempt to stop it .

In addition , he has that annoying trait common to lot of poor goalies of blaming everyone but himself every time a goal is conceded which drives me up the fucking wall .

The goalkeeper I would love us to have if at all possible is the one we played against yesterday , McCarthy . I've been watching him closely for some months in which time he has made some quite astonishing saves . In some of those matches it's no exaggeration to say Soton could easily have lost by 3 or 4 goals were it not for him , yet came away with a point or even 3 .

Big fucker , quick reactions , great shot stopper and very , very brave - this lad has it all .

Could we tempt them with a swap for one ours heading for the exit perhaps ? I'd love to think so .

I would go for Deeney
Reminds me of Billy in terms of playing style
Seems a Wilder type player, as oppose to Brookes who is a bit lightweight and an indulgent player

I’d stick him straight down the middle, eyes that wide apart he could see both centre backs

i agree with that ,Deeney is strong has a bit of pace and knows where the net is ,just what we want.I loved Brookes but is lightweight and now injury prone .Also not very good tracking back to help out.Great skills but not hard working enough.Would love to see Deeney and Che Adams up front for us but i know it would not happen but we can dream.Money is the problem so we must put our trust in C W to work his magic again.

Looking at the players put forward I’m surprised no ones mentioned Brewster at Liverpool. On loan at Swansea,he’s a athlete and goal scorer. I hope CW goes for him , before anyone replies saying Liverpool haven’t been relegated, Liverpool won’t play him in the first team with the strikers they’ve got so before another team comes in for him on loan CW could probably get him for 6m/10m.

We have been linked with him.

But this is the thread about relegated players. The 11 page Brewster thread is here - https://www.s24su.com/forum/index.php?threads/rhian-brewster.81137/

Anybody thought that our Academy should be coming up with suitable candidates? I realise that good prospects need to be protected ( from other "bigger" clubs ) but there is nothing seemingly in the pipeline. If the situation is that there is nothing even remotely near a squad place then the Academy set up needs shaking up. The club has "lost" young players as they believed their prospects were better elsewhere Calvert-Lewin; Brooks; Ramsdale etc. They all left when we were League 1 or Championship status but now when recruitment is a very important issue -- nothing from the best source. If I were Mr Wilder I'd be looking very hard at this situation.

I'll have a go using our current formation. Targets aren't necessarily realistic or affordable 😂

Bournemouth:
Ramsdale
Mepham - Cook - Stacey
Nobody - Billing - Cook - Brooks - Nobody
King - Wilson

Sub: Stanislas
Watford:
Foster
Absolutely - nobody - whatsoever
Femenia - Docoure - Chalobah - Pereyra - Nobody
Deulofeu - Sarr

Sub: Gray
Norwich:
Krul
Godfrey - Nobody- Nobody
Aarons - Cantwell - Mclean - Buendia - Lewis
Nobody - Maybe Pukki

Subs: Stieperman & Hernandez

Didnt Deeney complain about the weather in Sheffield or something? I think he is too much of and established southern boy to come here at this stage in his career.

Always rated pereyra very skilful player but hardworking too ,good allrounder

Wonder if wed be interested in a 29 yr old though

Several tens of thousand a week, a pair of gloves and working for CW should sort it

And we have a big student contingency...

There's a thread already.

Max Aarons would be the best signing from the relegated sides but clearly not realistic.

The academy has been shook a fair bit lately, but it'll take a while before anything comes from it.

Probably 21/22 at the earliest I'd imagjne unless we have a very young lad come into the first team.

Isnt Norrington Davis very well thought of its possible he will be in the squad next season if not on loan to the championship to get some playing experiencing before breaking in the following season ?

and Heckingbottom coming in as U23s coach meets the shake up criteria aswell Id suggest.

None of these are coming here on 20 - 25k a week. At least none of them that would be better than what we have.

I am hoping for rabbit or two out of the hat from the lower leagues in Europe, as Leicester did with Mahrez.
