Duffy is one of the first names on the teamsheet for me.

I felt harsh leaving him out, but MGW, Ndiaye and McGoldrick were all way ahead of him.

I guess it depends on the selection criteria. If we're talking about "what they gave us in their time here" then Duffy gets a look in.
If it's purely down to "best player in their position" he's down the pecking order.

If we’re allowed to pick a ‘peak’ period for players, then Lundstram in the first half of 2019/20 was twice the player Hamer is this season. Same goes for Norwood - at his peak he was better than any other player, possibly with the exception of JOC.

Hamer has responsibility for every attack. Lundstram had to defend, run forward and give it to Norwood. He was very good at that for a while but as soon as he tried to do more he feel off a cliff

Fair point re Norwood.

Re Lundstram, am not so sure. I imagine Hamer’s stats this year are better? And that’s in a much worse team. I think a lot of the Lundstram love-in was because he was tagged as a defender in that fantasy league thing that year. He did score some important goals for us though and fitted our system at the time well. So fair play to him.

Mousset

Not necessarily the guys that gave the most or were most consistent, but the guys that at their best had the highest ceiling.

Mousset, for a couple of months, was phenomenal for us.
Coincided with the best period of football I can remember this club playing. We were seriously good.

I don't think any of the other picks are too controversial. MGW and Ndiaye were an absolute joy to watch.
McGoldrick deserves his spot. He ran the show in several PL games. We haven't had anyone else do that for us before or since.

One could argue that Anel had a higher performance level than Basham (maybe), but I'd disagree. Anel was useless in the PL, Basham was anything but.

But please don’t compare Anel to Bash -

Anel might have had the ability to be as good as Bash but he never had that steel, determination and never say die attitude that Bash always had.
