I was
One of the best refs I've seen this season. But shouldn't the penalty have been a yellow card?
I was baffled by this. Souttar got a second yellow for a shirt pull in a crowded midfield in the home game against these. This was at least a yellow. Then he gets booked later in the game and should be off.

Hes had a decent game tbf, although that want a freekick against brewster. It was shoulders and no different to ohares against wba.
I thought he was ok and had no problem, as an SAFC fan, with the penalty decision. Clear and as blatant as you will get.

Interestingly of course there was another similar incident right at the death that could have resulted in another penalty.

Most refs don’t give pens for shirt pulling so it was brave of him to give it.. perhaps he just wasn’t brave enough to do it twice!

Wilder mentioned it but said referee was never going to give it, last minute after he alresdy given one and against 40k odd.. didn't seem to upset about it. So that suggest it wasn't that bad.

We only have ourselves to blame but small margins... VAR and a better referee that's three points.

Think there could've at least been 2 penalties in the final few minutes there. Referee and his linesmen didn't cover themselves in glory.

I completely disagree with you mate. With VAR Hamer’s handball would have been a penalty to Bristol City. It wouldn’t have been a penalty to us even with VAR. Burrows was weak as piss. We drew and fully deserved. This was down to Wilder’s game management not the ref or ‘VAR’.

Referring to the offside for their goal as well.

We didn't deserve to win but that doesn't mean that should have counted if that makes sense

Might have been but it would have been a paper thin decision. If football gets down to that sort of level of forensics then it’s going to be a very boring spectacle.

There was shouts for more that one pen

What did the official’s actually get (significantly) wrong ?!?!?
Guess it’s inevitable they’ll receive pelters given the title of the thread but I’m struggling to identify what the fuck folk are greeting & griping about:- beyond projecting their ‘disappointment’ dropping 2 points (very)late on.
Brizzle had lots of possession without looking especially threatening beyond the goal & Cooper’s (wonder) save in 1st half.
Their keeper made 2 excellent stops (JRS & Burrows) & we had other half chances (JRS Campbell) .
We could have (easily?) won 4/5 : 2

People are probably bemoaning the 3 Pen Shouts at the end of the game. The ones acknowledged by the Bristol fans in The View From.

How about the blatant penalties and consistent time wasting, kicking ball away unpunished and the obvious diving going unpunished either, and let's not mention the fact their players was wrestling all game aided by the officials.

It was paper thin, but VAR would have ruled it out. Personally, I didn’t feel hard done by with that decision, it would have been unfair on Bristol City. That level of forensics is not a forecast, it’s been in existence for several years, eg Lundstram at Spurs, it was that kind of margin.

With VAR both sides would probably have got two soft pens and their equaliser would have been disallowed for offside. The game would have finished around half ten. Fuck VAR.

I don't think the Burrows one was a pen. He went down far to easily.

The one on Moore is given a penalty if there aren't 4 players around him. He nicks the ball past the oncoming defender and the defender cleans him out. The players around the Acton made it look less bad and less careless. Shocking decision.

I believe the ruling around hitting the ref with the ball needs tweaking also.

Last night their player fucks his pass up and it's going to BBD unmarked in attacking area and no one around him (clear as day our ball), yet the stupid rule gives the ball back to the team that kicks it. I think this is where it needs tweaking and telling referee to apply common sense, ball was going to us with or without the referee and it should be dropped back to us (eith the new ruling).

The referees position though. Totally wrong.

This might just be me, but that through ball seemed so obvious and Robinson was so much deeper than the rest of our defence I was screaming for him to step up and play the guy offside. Might be being harsh but I’m putting that down to a Robinson mistake.

All of which can be equally applied to us (all season)
last night :
“blatant” handball by Hamer ?!?
“obvious dive” by Burrows ?!?
“wrestling” by Robinson ?!?
Let’s not conflate how shite ‘modern football’ is with needing a scapegoat (when we don’t win)
