Recruitment

Our financial situation applies to every club that’s relegated from the PL apart from Norwich.

I know hindsight is useful but if we get promoted back to the PL then maybe the Norwich model is best, accept instant relegation and slowly acclimatise to the increased revenues so when a team is relegated they still have plenty of finances to strengthen in the Championship.

The irony is it’s our ambition whilst in the PL spending 110 mil over 2 seasons and giving out big contracts has proven to be our downfall.
Yes it does, but Fulham, Norwich and possibly West Brom have the knack of signing players who will get them promoted again. We haven’t.

Best we can hope for is a Bournemouth when they vastly improve in the 2nd season after relegation.

PH recently confirmed our interest in Souttar and Hill. Both of these deals would have been permanent I assume, although Souttar could have been a pre-contract agreement.

We’re now just focusing on a loan. If we were considering permanent deals a few weeks ago, I wonder why it’s now strictly a loan signing (assuming we make one).
Because we might think there is a better chance in doing a permanent deal in the summer

We have money, but not tens of millions and as with any business we have to decide what best to spend it on and crucially when to spend it.
The summer window will be a better time to recruit sensibly.
Do Sheffield Utd have money or disUnited World? Utd going forward cannot count on any money if any assets are sold .... I hope I'm wrong!

Well I look at it like this McCabe couldn't afford to run the club alone and I would say him and the Prince are fairly close on wealth. McCabe and the Prince together were only just able to run the club enough to roughly break even. Without Premier league money the Prince alone can't afford to run this club I reckon he will sell up before the parachute payments stop, unless we somehow manage another promotion he will be gone in 18 months, that or we will be in league one.
Let's hope so!

I don’t think we can say we are skint or that we have money. At present we just didn’t know, but my measured guess is that we are financially stable, haven’t charged all our future income and will have money available for acquisitions in the summer.
In the unlikely event we get promoted this year we will no doubt spend what we are due to receive, but hopefully on better quality purchases than last time.
I don’t think this view is from cloud cuckoo land, but it may be inaccurate.
I assume the story will go money available in the summer so us mugs buy another season ticket ... at the moment I'm more dissolutioned under HRH then when McCabe was in charge 🤨

Really ?
To say He has no sentimental ties with the fans , the Club,, Sheffield or even England, and has to puts up with a lot of stick and abuse from anonymous moaners on here, I don't think he's done that bad really..... 😉

If we get promoted again this season, I sincerely hope we don’t spend all of our money in the way we did last time.

We can’t compete with prem spending anyway, despite us seemingly been on course for bankrupting ourselves, so it’s probably not worth it.

Spending money on relatively temporary assets we cannot afford will only send us one way in the long run.

Truth is, if we'd kept a forward line of Clarke,

No, truth is how many goals did Clarke score after SUFC gave him a new contract.

1 I think in a cup game, though he did buy himself a nice new Bentley, so he was definitely focused on scoring goals not spending his 'new money'.

I blame the board and CW.

And McCabe obviously.

Get 1 more in whether it'd be a striker or midfielder. 1 more to freshen it up
