Morrison used to be a class player, just a bad lad, hope Wilder can get him in and sort him out, could be awesome for us.

I really hope he takes his chance. Very exciting and talented player to have in the squad, if he can prove himself.

It seems that we have a special spirit within the team
And Wilder is part of that because he’s got this rare quality of being one of the lads but also a tough taskmaster who earns respect.
Remember the Norwood interview. He said it’s a cliche how when a team is winning the player will say it’s the best team spirit ever
But he said that playing in this Sheff United team “really is” the best team spirit and atmosphere he’s ever known.

It’s very likely that the more time Morrison spends with our players and back room staff then it will help him see the light and knuckle down.
I really believe that Wilder is perfectly suited for him. Firm but fair with a sense of humour.

Looking back to last week, I think there was a show of intent from Morrison after being linked with us, he threw on some old training gear and hit the park. Potentially a cracking signing.

Morrison has never been a class player to date. His potential was off the scale and I think he has suffered from all the 'best ever' hype from Man U when he was just a kid. He clearly tried to run before he could walk so lets hope he's learned from his mistakes and now realises he has to work hard to succeed. If he has then Wilder will help him realise his ambition.

This could, could be the signing of the summer. Extra effort will be required all round though, Morrison himself has to get his head down and Wilder & Knill will need to manage him carefully.

Or he could get fucked off as soon as the plane lands back in blighty. We'll see.

I'm not getting excited about this one yet.

There's a long way to go before he's even offered a deal. Given what he's been doing over the last few years, how little football he's played and the poor standard he's been exposed to, it would be quite an achievement on his part if he's able to prove his fitness, ability and attitude to CW & co in order to persuade them to even consider making him an offer.

Yes, there are some similarities with McG but only in so much as they took a look as well before deciding to make a contract offer. McG was coming off the back of another season in the Champ (an injury affected one admittedly) and neither his ability or his attitude were in question.

My thoughts exactly. I'm not saying it's a bad (potential) signing - Wilder has too good a track record for that. But I think some fans are getting a little giddy about a player who has never done it as a professional. I reckon this is more likely to be a Ched Evans type deal than a second Didsy.

However, it's not a great risk and the rewards are obvious, if unlikely.

Safe to say this picture has been put on Twitter on purpose.

Could've easily taken the shot from a different angle that meant Morrison isn't in plain view in the background.

Totally agree, that’s exactly how I see it.
There’s strong similarities to Ched Evans, both have massive potential, but both had been out of the game for a long time but still young.
Both their careers had totally stalled so both still had loads to prove and were almost in last chance saloon.

Potentially Morrison could be a fantastic signing but it’s only potential.
We need to curb our excitement because it’s likely that this signing will fail as he’s not able to meet Wilders attitude/ work expectation
But I believe Wilder is really suited to helping Morrison find his mojo so he knuckles down.

Hes a fool if he doesn't make the most of this opportunity could have been a multi millionaire now with the money he could have earned.
Would be shame also to see a rare talent wasted.
Ironic really! Best made the most of his talent when a young man and threw away the best years of his career.
Morrison if he knuckles down to it could have a flourishing 2nd half to his career .
Hopefully we can get him sorted and signed up.One thing for sure if he can find his best form we would not have him long ( hope I'm wrong ) big knobs would come knocking and he would be off ! , hopefully we would get a good transfer fee for him.
Its early doors yet of course but if Wilder can harness his talent to the way we play ? !
Would be very exciting.

I've seen him play for the England u21s a couple of times, and he looked very good to me.

The bigger challenge won't be him realising his potential, but more if he does, keeping his feet on the ground and not letting it go to his head again.

Well, as I have said in other threads, I didn't really know much about him, because I only really have an interest in the Blades, unlike some of you guys who seem to know a lot more about rival teams and players.

After reading up about Morrison's "private life", I have to admit he seems like a Gary Madine type, in respect to the "baggage" he brings with him.

As far as a player, I would say he sounds more like a Jose Baxter than a Ched Evans. Apart from the obvious incident, I don't remember Ched being involved in too many off-field antics. Baxter was another with a ton of potential who just couldn't see what he was chucking away.

Hopefully a few years away from England learning difference cultures have helped him.

In the youth cup game Ravel and Pogba were by far the best players on the pitch and look at the difference in their paths.

Up to him now, Wilder loves a challenge doesn’t he!
