Ramsgate was by all accounts very popular with the fans at Arsenal and was unlucky to lose his place to Raya. I'm sure he could still do a job in the PL.

Getting 24-28m will remain one of the Prince’s best “hardball” moments.

In those early days it felt like he’d got lead in his boots against Wolves and Villa whilst not necessarily guilty of clangers. It was evident he was a downgrade on Hendo.

Maybe he could go on strike?

The reason why he isn't first choice or on the bench is because of his appearance fee, he's locked in a contact which he's never gonna match again

He's a very good keeper and it's a shame that his career hasn't gone positive after he got dropped by Arsenal
 



Ramsdale was a really poor goalkeeper for us. A substantial downgrade on Dean Henderson.

He did bizarre things in net, the late dives, making himself impossibly small in one-on-one situations, dreadful at coming for crosses, always positioned badly (which made some routine saves look worldie).
The only thing he has going for him, was he was decent with his feet.

I couldn't believe, with all of the data available, a club like Arsenal wanted him. We had their pants down.

You wouldn't trade him for £2m Michael Cooper.

Fair play to him though, he's earned money way, way beyond his abilities and despite leaving the wrong way, probably isn't a bad lad.
 
After forking out over £20m for him in the summer of 2020, I've never seen a goalkeeper make so many fuck ups in the first half of the season as he did. Yes, we were complete rubbish, but the amount of goals we conceded that were avoidable if we'd had Henderson in net instead of that clown. He was Grbic level, but worse in that first four/five months which effectively relegated us.

To hear that he went on strike and demanded a new contract (with a pay rise) to stay after relegating us genuinely left me half laughing and half utterly speechless. Pretty funny how it's turned out for him over the past 12 months, I hope Southampton refuse to sell him and he rots in the reserves for the remainder of his contract.

Not his appearance fee but his appearance. He always looked like he was halfway through taking a shit when the bell went and he had to cut it short and take to the pitch. He managed to keep that 'what am I doing here' surprised look about him for 90 min each game as well.

Aaron the Aloof, has quite a ring to it.

Didn't he win POTY that year?

It's interesting that Southampton's number 2 is George Long, another one of our young keepers that got nothing but abuse
