Rammers at the Euro's

Well, that and the dropped crosses, flapping at mid air and dives about four seconds after the ball screeched past him.

Y'know, I'll make no apology for my assessment of Ramsdale, here and now. His predecessor gained us (easily) nine points in our successful first season yet he can with massive expectation and a pricetag unworthy of a relegated club and within two minutes of the opening game is floundering at a ball he could have got to. The Villa away game, the Leeds at home game, the Man U at home game all saw attempts on goal one would expect a club record goalkeeping signing to reach, regardless of the shit central defence array in front of him. I'm okay he improved, but by the time he had we were relegated so we might as well have put Moore or Verrips in the net for all it was worth. And by 'improved', no way was it a 'Player of the Season' improvement as some will have it. He fucking owed us those saves and if anything, was doing what was expected.

Good luck to him now in the squad and if he plays I hope we see some of what he eventually showed us he can do. But he took his fucking time about it and made some unforgivable fuck ups early doors, some which people on here are conveniently overlooking.

You could have just said well done and good luck.

If he gets a game and does well, the Prince is gonna be like that cunt off Duck Tales.

I think the Prince is more likely to be proud that we've got players at the Euros, they'll be on the wall of his office like the Tracy's in Thunderbirds.

Eyes light up when they want a raise, and he tells them to fuck off.

So so many people were slagging Ramsdale off early doors. Given the opportunity now these folk are ready to count how many arms his starfish has got.

It's all about opinions ,but some couldn't see talent if it hit them on the head with a hammer .👍

Talent?

Okay, first goal versus Wolves. Easily reachable. Second one, possibly a hand to it. Liverpool away, palms a shot straight into Firminho's feet. Villa away, header loops and drops into far corner. Leeds at home - the very same. Man U at home, Rashford's shot straight under him. Crosses dropped, clearances booted straight up the pitch into the opposition's possession. Shit-pants moments when coming off his line.

Yep, later on he settled. But one half ... or one third season does not make a great goalkeeper, or even a talented one. It just makes by shit losen a bit when he's near the ball more often than not. Did you feel that way with Alan Kelly, Simon Tracey or Jim Brown?

Im not saying don't have an opinion dude but on the most positive day the lad has your comment is mostly negative and just drawing on the past.

If Fleck has a good game we don't come on and preface it with "yeah but he was wank at Coventry".

Pommps, we won’t get a talent like Ramsdale if we were to get rid now like you’ve been insinuating as you clearly think he’s not good enough, we simply won’t.

A keeper is worth a lot of points, we currently find ourselves in the Championship, Ramsdale will be the best keeper in the Championship, comfortably, there’s other players we can get rid of to improve the midfield this season, like midfielders themselves, other positions or even other goalkeepers like Verrips.

If we were to get rid or lose Ramsdale who would we replace him with? I’d rather keep our better players and build a squad round them, Ramsdale is clearly one of them.

It’s been said many times that goalies reach their prime in their early 30’s.
So it’s logical to expect a 23 year old and 1 month Ramsdale to keep improving over the years.
As I said….in 5 to 10 years it’s very likely he’ll be one of the best in the PL.
He’s good now but may be brilliant in a few years. The club owners will believe we are sitting on a top investment…his valuation will only go one way.

Whilst I agree with your previous comments about Henderson helping us gain potentially several points last season. And that Ramsdale didn't have a good start to his career with us, he also became the focal point for our problems when the real issue was the defence wasn't as stable as last season and we weren't scoring enough.

He came in with big boots to fill and not only that returning to his hometown club and desperately wanting to do well. In a way I see comparisons with Sharp when he came back under Robson. He didn't look the part enough. He was trying too but his confidence started to drop too and just as he started to get into gear Blackwell got rid.
Now Sharp is considered one of our best ever strikers. Ramsdale has now gained some recognition for his 2nd half season.

Ramsdale is only 23 still. Still v.young for a keeper, yeah he made mistakes earlier in the season which did cost us. I could easily do the same with Lundstram, Norwood, Fleck etc too.
But I see a keeper who also had confidence issues v.early in the season and that has gained confidence since Christmas. He's not the finished article but he is promising.
And him going to join up with the squad should help his confidence further. Only positives really.

Think the prince does and doesn't, he singled him out as not who he would have signed but that he will hopefully come good.

Please stay on topic! This thread is about congratulating Ramsdale on being the third Blade in history to be a member of the England squad in a major tournament. I dont understand why you chose to talk about our midfield in this thread!

Crayoning all over the thread. Disgraceful

His last call up for a while if he stays with us in the Championship though.

Might need to start thinking about his career goals.

I mean, he's currently England's 5th choice keeper. I can't imagine that is likely to change next season other than overtaking Johnstone.

Hi Stegosaurus here

Lets not forget, it was my criticism that caused him to up his game. He even said as much in an interview

"I read some comments by Stegosaurus calling me the Blades worst signing ever which motivated me to improve."
Stop making me give you likes, you bastard! I had you on ignore two months ago!

Have a like for mentioning Jim Brown.

You don't think that the midfield was much of a problem last year and mebbe we should replace the whole lot?

pommpey
Don't see how that is relevant to Ramsdale getting called up to the England squad.

The way you worded your post just made you come across as being extremely bitter and just seemed totally unwarranted
