Not sure if this has already mentioned, but surely this situation is the fault of our club representatives for approaching Chesterfield about a transfer? Why couldn't SUFC wait a week or two before entering any negotiations? That's if the transfer rumour is true of course.

No.......no.......I'm not biting.

Fingers in ears and humming loudly.

Has it gone yet?

RS still at it today reporting on the 10 people who have got a warning for revealing the identity of Ched's victim, how many thousands of culprits are given these every year ? but RS can't wait to implicate Evans into any news item, pathetic.

I thought Rob Staton worked for local radio and not The New York Times.

"I get paid to break stories". Do you bollocks, Robert.

Let's have some respect please, it's not all about cutting callers off reading twitter posts and sucking John Pearsons dick you know.

I don't know who leaked this story( club reps or rob statton). One thing is certain though statton is trying desperately to further his career hoping that Fleet Street or some other media outlets come calling!!. All he's achieved is making himself look like a complete knob who works for a shit piggy radio Sheffield!!. I'm just looking forward to the party on Sunday.

So who's Deep Throat?

Well done RS for putting the news out about Evans, I prefer news as it happens not kept back because it might upset some over sensitive souls. As for banning RS from the Lane wouldn't that cause a problem with match coverage on Bladesplayer? Which has been extensive and very good this year.

So once again, our great club has given some the chance to return to their preferred state of moaning misery instead of having to endure forced happiness caused by events completely beyond their comprehension!

Should of ( :) ) said Giddings. Sorry Andy!

The idea they are biased is accurate and founded on long experience.

Give me a bit more than that mate, experience alone can't be classed as evidence if it comes from someone who is themselves biased..

Indeed, mate. Another genius named Wilder. Billy, Gene and Tufty. Three legends...

Jack and Walter were not bad, either...

Going off topic, I'm a firm believer that there are historical windows that offer a platform for success. I wonder if the likes of Jack and Walter would have had the same opportunities now as they did then? It's nothing to do with them, but it's certainly to do with the zeitgeist of whatever age we're brought up in, the expectations, hopes, what's regarded as acceptable etc. I grew to embrace the work of Jack Lemmon. It goes without saying that "Some Like It Hot" gets a special mention, arguably the funniest film ever made, but when you visit the later offerings, "Missing", and "Glengarry Glen Ross" it's clear that Lemmon was more than able, in fact an actor of considerable range and depth. It's approximately 16 years since he died, and the silver screen was a poorer place for his passing.

I go further. I believe him to be the greatest movie actor of all time. Just shading the great James Stewart. His command of a range of roles (from the Wilder and Simon comedy masterpieces to the genuine pathos of Days of Wine and Roses and Glengarry) is, for me, unmatched.

A true legend. Tom Hanks is his modern day successor.

Tom Hanks? Mmmmm.

My view of Hanks improved markedly with 'Philadephia', so yes, I can see the link between Hanks and actors of years gone by.

We'll have to agree to disagree about James Stewart.

But right now there's only one Wilder, and he's a Champion quality Blade! Some like it hot indeed UTMB

Tom Hanks? Mmmmm.

All a matter of taste and era, Sean. I think Hanks is up there with the best.

Who would have thought, given their former glories, that De Niro and, to a lesser extent, Pacino, would make some of the garbage they have? Who would have thought the young Di Caprio would go on to become, as he has in my view, one of the greats?

As for Ched...

I agree with most of that but Pacino became a parody of himself years ago, awful overacting. I'd say De Niro's performances have been better, on the whole, irrespective of the quality of the films they've been in during the last couple of decades.

I've enjoyed most of Tom Hanks work. Recently watched Sully and the part fitted him really well I thought.

Hanks apart, :) I totally agree. DiNiro really has made some bad movies.

Well, it wouldn't do to agree on everything, mate! I'll call it a difference of emphasis, I think.

Here's one I'm pretty sure we'll be ad idem: Greatest actor who could sit on the Kop without anyone noticing? We've spoken of his work before, but not on here...

Isn't agreeing to disagree one of the essentials in any civilised relationship? What matters is what we draw from anything that adds to our lives, beyond that little else matters.

Now, the matter of this actor you refer to, forgive my hole-ridden memory, but could you provide a nudge? Put it in a PM if you prefer, but you've elbowed my curiosity and I'm struggling to recall who exactly this is.
