quitters is a nice word for them. Drives me madFans leaving the ground with more than 10 minutes left? Why??
Happens every week at every ground in the country. Don’t agree with it or understand it - but it does.Fans leaving the ground with more than 10 minutes left? Why??
I agree generally Silent Blade, but I think a lot of the early leavers were reacting to the nature of the goal.
I said real time it wasn't offside, however, I'd be lying if I said I watched the game with anything like the usual concentration or feeling after that clusterfuck.
The arsing about is killing the game.
Don’t think it was just the goal. There were a few instances in the game where the ref was just being a complete fuck nugget
I can’t remember a goal having quite the impact on me. Not just deflated, just...different. In the aftermath I’ll concede the goal was technically correct, but we’re all paying the price for getting things technically right. Almost as if the beauty of the game was in its idiosyncratic imperfectionsI agree generally Silent Blade, but I think a lot of the early leavers were reacting to the nature of the goal.

Like the Egan and Carroll clash of heads. Loose ball after a 50/50 and somehow Newcastle get it back. It was a frustrating night before that second goal.
Honestly felt like the league one days tonight. Not in the way we played but just the absolutely twattery of the officials but the opposite putting every man and his dog behind the ball.
The lack of booking for Shelvey for the foul on Norwood and the allowance of time wasting early was a sign of things to come.
Thats shocking. Fair-weather glory hunters. bet they weren't there last yearFans leaving the ground with more than 10 minutes left? Why??
Probably feeling depressed after the defeat, like I always am. But the nature of the second goal, “technically” right or not, has also had a significant impact. Like a test of my loyalty as I found myself thinking of those tickets in the kitchen for the Villa and Watford games.. can’t deny having a feeling of whether I could be bothered if the games get decided like this from here on.
Can’t blame the Newcastle fans for celebrating, they don’t get the chance very often, but it’s just killing the spirit of the game and seriously damaging my enjoyment of it.
That sounds a better way of looking at it!!My guess is that fans were voting with their feet as a reaction to the officials and VAR totally screwing up.
I’ve always been against it from the first time I saw it live in a game in Warsaw. It ruined the game there and I see nothing that makes me think it can ever be a good thing for fans in the ground. Then when players do play to the whistle there is a penalty check like what happened to Hendo on Sunday.
I was in favour of VAR if it was implemented more like it was in the World Cup but as always the PL want to do it a bit differently.

Who'd have thought of teams parking the bus in the premier league against us thoDon’t think it was just the goal. There were a few instances in the game where the ref was just being a complete fuck nugget.

In 30 years I have never been at a game where folk don't start filtering out at 80 mins.
-Beat the traffic
-Need to catch a bus/train
-Get a sneaky couple of pints before the rush
-Shit game
-etc etc
That 2nd goal was just stupid though, on every level. I have never left a game early but I wouldn't blame anyone for losing interest at that point.
