Whether these comments are 100% true or not, we’re definitely doing the right thing speaking in a positive manner. I can’t believe the messages other clubs are sending out to the media, it’s as if they are waving the white flag.

Everything we hear from our club at the moment makes me more and more confident that we’ll have a great end to the season.

The Mail has done a club by club preview of the restart.

On Aston Villa’s prospects..

Win their game in hand, at home to Sheffield United on June 17, and Villa will be out of the bottom three. After that the fixture list is much tougher”

”Hmmmm... their first fixture is at home against the side with the second best away record in the whole country but then it gets much tougher after that? I didn’t look at what fixtures were coming up after the first one but I assume it must be Liverpool, PSG and Bayern.

admittedly with extra hours at work & havent watched sky sports news since we were supposed to play Newcastle. im a bit out of loop

has a time & location been confirmed for villa game yet as all we know is 17th june. or any of the other remaining fixtures. the premier league site just says TBC for every game when i looked last night
I understand the fixtures come out on Friday

FA cup has been announced 1/4 on 27th June

semis on 1st July

Final on 1st August

That's fine, just let them carry on writing us off and forgetting how well we have done this season......I suspect a lot of clubs/press/pundits will write us off all over again for the forthcoming "mini-season" and yet again we will make them eat humble pie!

Let's hope so.

Smash Villa and Newcastle first up. Get loads of confidence. Finish 3rd

id like to say that they wouldn't be that stupid, but I worry they probally are :) . like Liverpool I think this is going to brilliant for us because we might be tiring & we were scraping results not playing to the usual level & getting 3pts. this rest will have done them good. we will come back firing

I am anti var but we started the season with it so think we have to finish with it. Same with sub limits. It only helps sides with bigger squads.

We all have 25 man squads though but I get what you’re saying. It’s more about the quality of cover.

Agree with that ..... but if we are gonna be playing Sat, Weds, Sat which it looks like, our high energy game may take its toll .......

If we are on top and we can rest someone it would be useful

But yes, generally I would say having 5 subs would benefit the Teams with a higher quality player on the bench .... I s'pose we might find out

To be honest, once they've started the only reason it should end prematurely is if public opinion decides it's tactless.

The footballers are in a bubble, so even if there's a flare up of cases you'd think the precautions been taken by football would limit its effect.

Only 1 positive test in latest round and that was at Spurs so looking good for 17 June.
Don't think it's that positive,. 9 tested positive in the championship yesterday and it seems no symptoms. With 359 deaths yesterday, we are still nowhere near the Bundasliga stats that allowed their return. Even the business minister came down with the evil shit whilst speaking in parliament.

He was unwell and has been tested, but it's not confirmed he has it yet.

I'm in the camp of no-one should be going back at the moment unless they have a job that is adjacent to key workers or a job in which social distance can easily be maintained, like an arborist or groundsman or something, also these lockdown easings are unnecessarily complex and coming too quick, but I don't understand why people seem so offended by football coming back. At least footballers are being looked after, and it offers entertainment and a boost to the companies involved, there's some benefit, more than sending hundreds of thousands of people who won't be looked after back to work because someone who thinks Covid19 was invented by Bill Gates and China to spy on us wants to go and buy some chinos from Next in person instead of online.

Not sure what Bundesliga stats you are referring to? They had 10 positive tests in their first round of testing EPL has had thirteen after four rounds. Only one team Dynamo Dresden had to quarantine players due to two positive tests before the season started.

We are following the Bundesliga's lead in how to get Project Restart off the ground in terms of numbers of people allowed in the ground and safety regulations. The only difference at the moment appears to be that they placed their players in quarantine one week before the games. After 37 games in the Bundesliga there are no reports of positive Covid 19 tests.

There have been extensive discussions between the Government, its Medical and Scientific Advisors, the EPL, players and PFA. They have all agreed that football behind closed doors can resume subject to the new safety guidelines and the management of effective testing. Only one positive test out of 1,197 indicates that they are on track to recommence the season from a health and safety perspective. Whether the off field politics at to-days EPL meeting derails that remains to be seen.

This could go on for years ! all a goalkeeper has to do to clear his area at a corner is cough.

In fact if your out anywhere these days it's more embarrassing to cough than it is to fart …......
