Thanks Roy.

Fairly "meh" comments on the whole really, one fan claims he couldn't name more than 3 of our players despite them having 3 of our exes at the club & Moose being here, as well as mentioning probably our most unknown signing Zivkovic, one mentions Francis as the first overlapping right back while forgetting he was our overlapping right back before he was theirs. Nice to see "physical Sheffield" getting another mention as well though.

That's a great stat... This is the 16th League meeting and we've met in all four divisions... Our 17th meeting is the FA Cup too

Another team that's been absolutely shite and looking certs for bottom spot - but then find their mojo just before they're due to meet us.

Nice stuff weird one!

They seem a bit flat about this. Or maybe a bit nonchalant, had a couple of wins and we always recover at this point of the season so no biggie is this game. I'd be very nervous in their position.

“Another us v Sheff Utd fact is that despite only playing 15 league matches against them, we have played them in all four tiers.”
........................................................................................................ 🤔

Like a " Did you know?" me.

It's like Lunny's goals. After the Palace game at Bramall Lane, I think he'd scored 9 goals in his career, but at least one in all four divisions.

“not sure about risking King in what will be physical encounter”✅
“Not many teams getting it right…Sheff Utd maybe…with the momentum from promotion…just like us ..fresh and unknown! “ ✅
“If we don’t match Sheff Utd’s workrate and fight then we will lose its that simple” ✅

No mention of any skill anywhere 🤔 why do these words crop up time and time again.
Football is a physical game work rate and fight should be a given attribute of any team, usually the ones who work hardest are more successful.
Played every team a few of them twice but we are unknown and momentum is still carrying us, yeah right.

I normally leave it to Roy but I just had a look on their forum myself and found these posted more recently than the View From ...

"Colleague of mine saw Nathan and Ryan on the beach and asked them why a sudden turn around in fortunes has taken place

CONFIDENCE was their reply"

But then I also found the one below and I thought nah, we don't do complacent under Wilder

"Got a feeling this is the game Shef Utd slip up and be too complacent. We will be confident and fired up and just need to repeat the levels of work rate and energy. We still have on paper the better team IMO. Talk of Europe and how high they can finish is going to make them take their eye off the ball. Hope I'm right!

“Could barely name 3 players if pushed”

That’s a bit rich coming from a Bournemouth fan.

Bet if I offered him 100 pounds to name 3 of our players, his memory would quickly resume normal service

I like these posts by RoyG...make good reading, but I don’t understand this “first, second” thing every week. Am I missing summat? Maybe I should just stick to reading Roy’s site and not all the comments!

Actually, what I really like is looking at Biancos profile pictures of the tattoo birds.

I'm thinking of going into publishing. My first book will be 'Teams better than Chris Wilder's Sheffield United'

And no need to worry about printing costs! There's 3 years of teamsheets already printed onto paper ready to use.

Only trouble is they're all a bit crinkled from the tears of defeated opposition fans..

That has got me thinking... who are the other three clubs that we have played in all four tiers?

Wigan must be one. Northampton and Blackpool?

and we never played Hull or Bradford in the top tier, so I'm stumped on this.

edit: it is Bradford

Cheers Panchero!

I hadnt realised Bradford City were in the top tier between 1908 and 1922 (Park Avenue were in the top tier which I knew about but they became non league before we got relegated to the 3rd tier for the first time) so you are right however, there is still one more...
