So, how to respond to Saturday?

Putting pressure on the players is not going to get a positive reaction.

If these were my u10s (the peak of my managerial achievements) then I'd be telling them they are good players, keeping everything positive, encouraging them to show what they can do, and treating next Saturday as a chance to make amends and build form for the play-offs.

Perhaps more importantly than all that I'd tell them they need to play with a *visible* passion and commitment.

I think we have a role to play on this. If something goes wrong on Saturday we have to encourage the team - if we get on their backs it could be a pretty rapid downward spiral.

Yes but if they were your under 10s you wouldn't publicly criticise them after every game!!
I have managed at junior level as well and just like adults you have different characters that respond to different methods - that's the skill .
I am not sure he's got that - or if he has it doesn't come across that well.

In times of adversity you should go back to what we are comfortable in doing. 4-5-1 which alters during a game to 4-3-3. We are away so the emphasis is more on Scunny and Walsall (Tuesday) to come out at us.

After playing 4-4-2 in the past 2 games I am very disappointed that the fans on here who advocated that, have.................gone VERY QUIET.

We all have our opinions, some say something about formations and don't justify it. For me we just do not have 2 x central midfield players who are proactive. Doyle always sits deep and does not relish a confrontation in the middle with one on one as he just isn't fast enough or skilful enough. Baxter was pissing about sitting deep on Saturday a lot of the time when the responsibility of a flat 4 is to get involved and quite simply, be BETTER than the opposition - we failed miserable in midfield (Murphy excepted), hence we huffed and puffed all afternoon. 63% possession might have been right - all played too deep and too static. Murph is the ONLY player we have who can accept a static ball, tease a defender and get past - it's easy, but most of the time Fleetwood doubled up on him.

If anyone thinks we can play 4-4-2 with the staff we have then they should say so and why. I don't think we can because we don't pass quickly enough and then move for the next one, then the next one - it has to be high tempo to beat a team the sits back like Fleetwood.

We look much better with a 5 in midfield or a sold 3 like Bristol (Coutts/Doyle/Basham). I would play a 5 v Scunny

Davis on the right, Murph on the left, Doyle/Coutts in the centre and Reed in the middle somewhere. Done or Mcnulty up top. (Leave S Davis out altogether)

2 away games, keep both of them tight - hit them on the break - boring 1 nil wins would do very nicely...........

Off to watch the pass masters (Arsenal)..............

Will you need to get the u10's to practice corners? And I'd be having a word with the parents of the players who are not giving 100% to see if the player has a problem with my management style (mind you, runners up, Division B u11's, the height of my management success).

Well not having ever been in the dressing room to hear what he's saying to the players I don't really feel I am able to pass comment, but you lot feel free by all means....:)
