Think the difference is Cannavaro was prescribed the injection and immeadiately, as far as i understand, informed the doping people of the fact he had to take it.

Whereas Paddy is just a bit thick!

Well if the Italian football is anything like their political system then its no surprise that he got off

Cannavaro was prescribed the injection. If a player needs a banned substance on medical needs they are allowed to take them but the club has to inform the local FA of the situation.

I believe the paperwork was submitted late and in the meantime a random test took place hence the charges.

Nowt to do with Paddy playing for us.

According to the Italian press had the injection not been administered immediately to Cannavarro a life-threatening situation may have ensued!!, (If you can believe everything written in the Italian papers!?). A tad different to Paddy's situation really!.

Just read this report taken from the Sheffield Star. Got to laugh at Paddy's comments about the interest generated by "a woman turning up". Sounds like my workplace ;-)
A bit worrying that United don't seem to have taken her vist more seriously though.

"Describing a visit by Jenni Fitzgerald, the FA's Football Regulation Manager, to United's training ground aimed at dispensing advice about the doping code, they called for clubs to ensure such meetings were held in "circumstances conducive to listening" rather than immediately after training sessions.

Kenny agreed, the report recounts, that "He and the other players were provided with doping control advisory cards/leaflets which set out in detail examples of prohibited substances, permitted medication and outline therapeutic use exemptions and supplements.

"He told us that the said cards/leaflets were simply left; as he put it, "people don't read them". He opined that the players seemed more interested because (as he put it) a "woman turned up".
