You dont have to tell me, I had a rocky start to relationship here because I made a few grammar mistakes which can happen as ive always struggled with English & way I was ganged up on you'd have thought id threatened to punch someone mum in the face

Mum should be a capital M ;)

Mum should be a capital M ;)

Ha!!!!!
A Capital M should be used if the word Mum is used as a name, i.e talking to your mother and calling her 'Mum' or referring to her like 'I was talking to Mum yesterday about Dan Burn.'

If it's someone else's mother then it would be 'mum' as in 'I saw Nigel's mum the other day.' o_O

Newbury Blade you have my deepest sympathy, as a Dad myself, I cannot imagine what you are going through. Keep your chin up pal.

I hope this won't come across as precious or over-sensitive, but last night a member of this forum posted the following comment under one of mine:
Why dont you go on play on the motorway you sycophantic lickspittle
This was in response to my pointing out that, contrary to what some people were claiming, we had in fact signed players in previous transfer windows. Not that controversial really.
Anyway my point is that such comments, which clearly come into the category of personal abuse (and I have made a complaint to the administrators on that basis), can be even more offensive than they seem when people write them. In my case for example, I've been receiving treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder in relation to the death of one of my children. Believe me, in those circumstances you don't want or expect to find someone who claims to be a fellow Blade, whether he was serious or not, telling you to "go play on the motorway".
You may say the person who posted the comment has clearly got his own problems and should just be ignored. But if they can say that kind of thing once, they can say it again, and not just to me. So please can people be aware of this.
I've supported this club for 50 years and enjoy the fact that we can debate our different opinions here, and things can get heated at times, but this kind comment is completely unacceptable.
If you've read this far, thanks and I'll let you get back to commenting on the JTW.
Well said and condolences.

Belated thanks to everyone for your comments here, and to those who messaged me directly.

I've been taking a short break from the forum but now glad to be back and very keen to check on all the latest updates …

Apparently we are in for someone called Dan Burn?

Welcome back, hoping you got my email?

Sorry to hear about your loss NB, must be awful losing a child however old they are.
I had a friend who was in his late 50's who committed suicide. I never saw it coming.
To see his old mum and dad at the funeral was worse than finding out about what he'd done. You might as well have buried them there and then in the same grave........it was bloody horrible to see them in that state at their ages.
I sincerely hope you can find a way to cope.

Sorry for your loss. That must be awful.

I agree about the general point. There's absolutely no need for abuse or getting personal. Like my mum used to say - if you can't say anything nice (or at least non abusive), don't say anything at all.
I always try and live by that maxim, unfortunately in the eyes of the less well educated that makes me the king of the happy clappers :-)
