So, a question to eveyone: after a spineless, embarrassing, troubling and upsetting 2nd half performance where we got killed, had no idea what to do and nobody stood up as we had no captain, what do you think the players talk about in the changing rooms, on the bus back home?

Do you think they can seriously empathize how all those great Blades who went to the match feel afterwards on the drive home?

Do you think they can empathize with how I and many other Blades feel having a ruined weekend 3000 miles away?

Thoughts?

I imagine this particular group aren't that arsed at all to be honest. Maybe the odd individuals feel embarrassed about getting humiliated by Wrexham but just a job isn't it
I can’t see this at all. Of course they will be upset after that, they can’t let themselves get too down there is another match just around the corner. They need to bounce back, they played OK but then got overwhelmed and Wrexham deserved the win.

Need a bit of perspective- last few matches we have done well.

I don't know, they were as mentally weak tonight as they were in the last away game. I don't think it's a squad of players who are genuinely that bothered what happens this season. I think we as fans presume the players care as much as us but it's very rare that is the case. It's just a group of footballers where most don't have any affinity with the club at all.

I could pretty much guarantee that if you were to head into a particular bar in the next hour or so you will quite likely see some of them behaving as if nothing untoward happened.

You can see why Hecky is doing so well with an average Preston side. In our promotion season under him, he did enough to get the result, although we relied massively on N’Diaye at times. This seasons talent should be Hamer but he goes missing too much, it isn’t a quality league but we are dropping off too much. Norwich at home, West Brom away and today are 8 points dropped that would see us in 10th and 2 points away from the playoffs. Instead we will do well to stay up

I don't even blame them for it. They're only human. Some players will hate losing and feel angry about letting themselves down but it's like any job really. Most will just turn up on Monday and not be arsed about how the company they work for is doing

Think that's harsh. They'll want to win as much as we do and will be gutted to have lost, I'm sure of that.
I don't know mate, very easily said. I've been in the dressing rooms of a top side from another sport, who held each other to account to the point where emotions ran unbelievably high, incredibly heated and grown blokes on the edge of tears, beating themselves up after losses and blaming themselves.

They won trophies by the way. Can you honestly say this lot give any indication of taking it that hard?

I think Harmer should be asked that ! he didnt raise a sweat.!
I know he has private problems but if he cant give a damn why play him he's been poor all season!.
His performances all season have been poor! sprinkled with the odd great goal.

I hate the term "they wanted it more" but Wrexham quite clearly did tonight. It might be because this club is on a downer with a lot of new players but there's nothing with in team in terms of spirit. It's just a job for most and a lot will regret coming here at all.

Ben White is a "it's just a job" footballer. He doesn't even like football that much. 😄

I wouldn't like to think that any of our players are blasé about losing a game, and there are enough experienced professionals in the squad to not let that happen, however there have been comments from Wilder himself recently that Peck has the spirit of the club at heart and I wonder who people think are specifically not interested?

I think we lost the physical battle tonight and that has been unusual for a Wilder side.

There's loads like it. Anybody who knows former footballers will tell you how little most actually care. The ones who do are usually the very top players
This is it. Nobody's saying they're blase or mercenaries etc etc, it's not even being harsh, in many ways not even a criticism.

Some folk go to work, aren't that bothered but do their bit fine and with commitment, then go home, and repeat. Others are a bit hungrier, want it more and are harsher on themselves. That's not to say they're better people, in fact often I'd say it's because there's something else missing in them so they have to fight harder or prove something.

But you get a few of those in one place and suddenly, you succeed because being harsh on yourself and others may not be 'healthy' but it sure as hell drives standards and success.

I think that's what Roygbiv and Nick Jansky are saying too isn't it? We haven't got any leaders or nasty bastards, but we also haven't got many who you think will drive on and have an incredible career (Arblaster aside). A lot of decent blokes and decent players but nowt that really makes you sit up and think they'll control their own destiny, or this side's. To put in Twitter twattery, they and we are just a bit 'meh'.

I disagree. They didn't care if they won or lost today. You don't concede ground so easily to a team that you handled easily in the first half if you care. You don't allow a very average team to walk through the midfield and defence that easily if you care. You don't concede shambolic goals like we did if you care.

Sometimes you get played off the park by a better team, even if you care. When you play poor teams and go in 3 - 1 up at half time, you don't concede four goals second half, keep giving the ball away and disintegrate into a shapeless, lead legged rabble if you care.

if they wanted to win today they would have but they really don't give a fuck. Spineless, overpaid bunch of fucking wankers, I wish they had enough about them that they'd be embarrassed by that, sadly they don't.

UTBFTP 👊👊👊

Hamer couldn't give a f.ck that's totally obvious from the performance most games.

see Gary Neville - no where near top player ability, but fucking gives everything, even ignored his own brother in the tunnel as oppo sides, pisses me off when they’re all cuddling after the game/loss, be mates off the field but on it its enemies
