Players out boozing

I can only judge from what I see with my own eyes, but I can't stand this group of players we've ended up with. What a bunch of losers. We have old "never achieved a thing" players like Collins who accepts no accountability for his mistakes on the pitch. And young lads who seem like they're on the gravy train before they've even hit their mid-20s. None of them seem to have any personal ambition to better themselves and judging by their performances no collective ambition to win games of football and get their club out of the division.

Going out on the lash in the town of the 20,000 fans who have just paid to watch you drag your arse around a pitch for 90 minutes showing f.a intent to win a match. Wankers.

Can people at least post their normal haunts so the rest of us can avoid going there? I'm guessing Crystal because that seems to be the place people who think they're big shots hang out.

Is that what used to be Dickens ? I thought that was Viper Rooms ,not that I will be trying it ,more of a Red Lion type me.

If Best, Gascoigne, Whiteside, Robson, Bowles etc were playing today.....

they'd probably be playing for us in the third division. Because that's how much fitness and nutrition have moved on.

I think Football has changed beyond all recognition in the last 30 years, so tales of drink fuelled success from that era are irrelevent. (Notwithstanding that the players concerned had more natural ability than all of Utds current squad put together.)
Todays game is sadly far more reliant on physical conditioning and athleticism. Consequently any footballer who is out on the piss every weekend is unlikely to enjoy much success. It is extremely unprofessional and as far as I'm concerned should be stamped out immediately. Yes they are young men, but I'm afraid you can't expect to enjoy the potential long term financial benefits of your talents, if you're not dedicated enough to make personal sacrifices in order to perform at the highest possible level.
Conversely, any pro Footballer who works hard at his game, does extra training on his areas of weakness etc etc, could earn riches beyond his wildest dreams, he can retire at 35 and spend the rest of his life going out on the piss and shagging, if that's what he wants to do. I always remember some manager, years ago, lamenting that his players all went off after training to play Golf or Snooker to try and be the best Golfer or Snooker player in the club, but it never occurred to any of them to stay on the training ground to try and become the best Footballer!
Whether they like it or not they are not normal lads, but if they want to live as such, they should get their arse's out of bed at 6 a.m and onto the building site after all that's where they're likely to end up. :(

This moment Bladeybladebladism was brought to you by Sheff de party and Pinchy's "Blade in a Bottle" cologne, mmm you can really smell the essence of S2

Really, I think this thread has had it's day. It's stinkier than Barnsley girl at 3am.

This is without doubt the most confusing post I've ever read and I went on Bladesmad once.

Wonder if the boys will have a few sherberts out on the town tonight just to rub us unworthy fans nose in their shit?

Player booze watch.

215am mcnulty on Carver Street laughing and messing about, clearly merry. I have decided this pisses me off, in the squad or not.

I was lucky enough to see Johnny Gannon up on the tables in the Big Tree, Woodseats 21 years ago, after this game:

Such commitment and athletic running from boys in red and white actually makes me feel sad.

Thanks eddie, last night I watched this when x factor was on and that sent me to the 3-1 win at Hillsborough which took me to 4-3 versus forest. Fantastic memories.

By then I felt both better and knackered so went to bed.

I'm with you in utter disgust J, they clearly have no concept of how important football is in this city and how deeply our current position affects fans particularly after the effect a players boozing and promiscuity has had on this club! Talk about in your faces.

I think any player signings need to be reported to Jim with the line:

"You asked us what you could do better?", try disciplining these time wasters?

None of our squad should be out tonight. Go out when you're top of the league you overpaid lazy excuses for footballers.
