Terrible toothless performance by the sound of it not helped by the manager changing a team that just won against a premier league side to be more defensive against a team in the relegation zone of League one.

One win in the last five league games when you are two points off second bottom is relegation form.

A bad result and we need new players in. I don't think we will be relegated but defeat against one of the relegation rivals again is worrying

Disagree with the OP. Agree with the second post.

Manager needs at least three or four new players or we will be cutting it fine to the end of the season.

Time for a change? We haven't had one for a while.

As I have just said somewhere else it seems Impossible to try make constructive criticism without someone accusing you of calling for the managers head, I'm not, it's the squad that is not good enough and some people seem to think we are too good to go down, we aren't.

Yes, I agree with that. Luckily I believe NC is no fool and will address the matter in the next couple of weeks. Only to an extent though - this is a long-term task.

By the sound of it ?

You seem a man of the world Pinchy so can I ask why you think it's not acceptable for people to critisise this team when they lose. We should be allow to ride high with our chest pumps out like last week, then on the other hand when we lose a game we are in our rights to have a go.

We should be able to question Clough's selection and substitutions whenever we please just like you like you shout down people like a school boy when they go against your tip tap. We have won 1 in 4 league games, which was against a Tranmere team who didn't get off the bus.

If you had a salesman who had 1 good week in 4, would that be acceptable? These guys are professionals in their field and they keep getting given free passes by people like yourself for bad performances. That is why we are where we are. Your children don't grow by you giving them free passes for their mistakes, you tell them to do better probably as much if not more than they are good.

If people want to come on here and rant, can we just let them fucking get on with it

They can, but sensible responses are permitted.

We are not a good team, but we have a manager who will deliver one given time. Irrational rants and childish tantrums don't help that process!

I don't agree with everything that has been said on this thread but I don't see any childish rants or tantrums on any of the posts.

Thats It

From what I have read it reads as if the players have massively let us down today, I would blame the manager he as been great so far.

Thought Hill, Porter and McGinn were really poor. Their center half had Porter in his pocket all. Although I do think the ref could have given him a little bit more protection though, constantly climbing all over him. Paynter looked like something we have needed for a while. Looks a bit of a bully I thought. Much more of a presence than have had!

I agree with Pinchy, I have faith in Nigel to sort this out. The worrying thing is prior to the JTW it sounded like Nigel had some definite targets with some decent names being suggested. I was fully expecting at least one of the lads from Derby to sign but obviously they don't fancy the gig. I have been disappointed in the past with our business during January and expect to be again, Nigel will just have to work miracles with this current shower and we'll keep our fingers crossed .

Maybe Notts County are better than us

They certainly were today! Showumni dominated the Centre Halves, Campbell-Rice played like we hoped Brandy would when we signed him, and bar the first 10 minutes and a McGinn chance at the end they restricted us just the long range efforts. They were first to everything in midfield too and were very fired up, very much in the mould of their manager I'd say.

you left Baxter out of that list who was just as bad as them
I didn't think he was that bad truth be told. But saying that I thought it wasn't the kind of game he could be very effective in. The state of the pitch was dire and with all the long balls being pumped up to Porter he was never going to do much. Feel sorry for him at times as well. It's clear that Clough is pining a lot on his shoulders by making everything go through him. We desperately need another outlet.

Did anybody have a better view of the McMahon incident? My first thought was that it was a dive, but he looked to be in a decent position to get the ball in.

To be fair .Campbell Rice usually plays like a right useless twat.

Firstly well done to the 3k+ who went today. Clough says he is going to try and "desperately get 1 or 2 in" before Bradford next week in his County reaction. Good news as I believe we do need that added quality and depth in certain areas to even pull away from the relegation places.

Still think we need that driving force captain in, a leader on the pitch

Aye, a bloke near me was saying that he never plays well against us. Unfortunately he was unplayable in the first half.

The problem is we need players in who want to be here next season chasing promotion. We don't need loans. We also need to ship out those who don't care because they know they won't be here next season. If not, I think we will go down because there are not many up for a relegation battle hence the result today.

My message to Clough would be just keep us up. This team is severely lacking in the required quality and mentality to win games on a regular basis.

Manage them as well as possible, scrape to safety and let's see how many we can move out/in during the summer. The manager has a very tough job but he's the best man for it.

We'll find out next season if we stay up because it will be promotion or bust next year.
