Pink Sambuca drinking World Champion.
It's a little bit early to really be thinking about who has been the POTS, especially given the main fact that there's been no stand-out candidate amongst the general flotsam and jetsam that has been Sheffield United's squad.
What there has been out there is a bunch of uninterested strangers, some of which haven't deserved a vote if the poll was for Best Player In Their House.
This is why I think a protest vote is called for. Perhaps if a complete joke of a player wins the award it would be a kick up the arse for the board when either McCabe or Birch has to introduce the winner, or when Gary Sinclair shouts about him at home matches.
The vote shouldn't be for the best player this season, because frankly I along with most Blades genuinely haven't got the faintest idea who has been best. And it shouldn't be for your favourite player either.
The vote for POTS this year should go to the worst player. The one least deserving of our votes. And no, not Monty. Not Quinn either, or Evans, Cresswell, Simonsen or any other player to grace the pitch.
The worst player this season hasn't played at all. In fact he might be one of the worst signings in recent years. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the disaster that is Ryan France.
Now, admittedly he's not actually played so hasn't had the opportunity to show how bad, or even how good he actually is. But considering he's mooched around poorly all season (and most of the previous one too) without contributing anything whatsoever ably demonstrates just how much of shit creek we've managed to get up, sans paddle.
He's also possibly done both the most and definitely the least for this club this season. He's not played at all, which means he's been consistent, something none of the others can be accused of. He's not been on a losing side once. He's not been on a winning side either, but not many of the squad who've played have been winning much this season either.
Ryan France epitomises our current plight. Totally useless and bleeding us of his wages every week. I bet he's not on statutory sick pay either.
So vote for Ryan France. Let the club know we've been rubbish through the medium of the ballot box. He might just win, although you can pretty much guarantee that the club won't let the votes count, in which case there's another subject for the next interactive forum meet 'n' greet.
Vote France. You know it makes no sense, in which case it's an accurate reflection of the whole club at the moment.
