I know I'm meant to be outraged, or ridiculing (I lose track) but it's been like this for a long time.

I once heard lily-livered, molly-coddled, shrinking-violet Neil Ruddock tell a story about how a couple of months after he retired his car broke down and he had no idea what to do because he couldn't phone the club. He was stranded, clueless, at the side of the road. I think in the end he phoned his wife.

Some players will benefit from the services advertised, some will prefer more independence.

You could opt for the "tough"/moronic approach of chucking them in at the deep end, and seeing if they sink or swim - but that doesn't seem like a great way to get the most out of what are likely to be £10m or £20m (or more) investments.

There was a tweet a couple of days ago showing Sadio Mane looking after some player at Liverpool. Literally putting an arm round him. I'm not up to speed with who it's likely to be, but it was some phenomenally talented young lad, plucked from his home and landing in Liverpool.

They’d be better offering it out to students at the uni depending on the hours. My mate did a similar liaison job for a company in Ibiza over the summers and then the first year after she left for not much more in pay. Looks good on the CV.
