The definition of madness is doing the same thing over and over but expecting a different result. I’d love to think we could escape but we won’t if we keep playing the same way with the same people up front. McBurnie simply isn’t good enough. Chances mean nowt if they’re not converted and we need someone who can score. If we continue to create as many chance as we are doing then we’ll start to pick up points. Our barren run in front of goal won’t continue. Whether we’ll pick up enough points to stay up is another matter. Getting out of this is going to be extremely difficult but ask yourself this, has anything ever been achieved by anyone who decided to throw the towel in early? Admitting defeat with 28 games left is crazy and is a sure fire way to ensure that defeat actually occurs.

Suicide convention i reckon. What is this thread?
hardly concrete evidence.. thanks for the laugh thoughFleck doesn’t start for Scotland.
Totally agree with you there. Unfortunately, I just can’t see us converting chances created with McBurnie leading the line. I’ve been a critic of Lunny but have to say that we went up a couple of gears when he came on today. Where’s Bogle? the clips I saw when we signed him madd me think he’d be a huge influence but hasn’t even made the bench?True, but I feel that if we continue to create the sort of chances we’ve created in the last few games we will start to see them converted in to goals. We are largely the same team as we were last season, when we were world beaters. What’s changed?
As I say, admitting defeat now will absolutely guarantee relegation. Personally, I’d prefer to see is putting up a bit more of a fight.
we won't go down. we're only two wins from the fourth from bottom
they aren't likely to. that is why they are in the bottom six.Two wins, only if the other 5 around us don't win, either.
Didn’t we play with commitment tonight? We’re down, no coming back now. Berge will want out and command decent money. JoC will probably be be forced to stay due to his injury time out. Egan? Maybe but it wouldn’t be to a big club so if we’re smart we’d make sure he stays. I’d can McBurnie even though, after the pish he’s served up we might lose 50% of what we paid for him. He may be ok in the Championship but not in a team that plays the way we want to and he clearly isn’t up to PL standard. Mousse may want to go abroad? Time to plan for a future without Didzy and Norwood. Other than that I think we stand a good chance of bouncing straight back up IF we play with some sodding commitment. I’d back him for now but if CW genuinely has lost his mojo, he’ll be gone by this time next season.
I agree mate, but let's face it were not good enough. It would be much more sensible to put together a plan that would see us stay in the Premiership but then what do I know, I’m just a meathead.
How about wait until we have to plan for the championship, we still have plenty of games left and threads like these could make you look stupid. How about taking part in sensible debate instead of handing out insults, I know that is asking a lot from the likes of meatheads like you but how about trying every once in a while?
Pal, I've been watching the Blades for near on 55years and we don't do bouncing straight back what we do is go through the lower divisions for a bit and then bounce back, and yes it does hurt!!We’re down, no coming back now. I think we lose Berge for sure, probably JOC, maybe Egan and Baldock. The majority will still be here. Don't see anyone going for Fleck at his age.
I think Fleck would like to set his record straight at Rangers.
I just hope that the lack of games that JOC has had this season will take him out of the limelight. Prospective buyers may want to see how he looks following his injury so we might get to keep him for one more.I think we lose Berge for sure, probably JOC, maybe Egan and Baldock. Sorry, sloppy language on my part. I was referring to the commitment to attack, press and generally look to dominate teams. I really don’t think we have shown that for more than 10 minute spells since the first break. McBurnie and Didz don’t have the pace or energy to hustle defences. It’s not part of Berge’s game, Norwood can’t do it and CW seems to have stopped setting us up to play that way. Burke epitomises what we were about. Granted he’s not the most polished player but he really does put people under pressure. However, one man pressing on his own is never going to work.Didn’t we play with commitment tonight?
Haha! sums up how I’m feeling Roy - it’s the only upside to not having him fitThat's the hope. Yep, the hope is our best player is out injured so we don't sell him!
I don't see us losing that many to be honest. Berge obviously would move on and maybe Egan. JOC would have to come back and prove fitness to get a move and I don't know if anyone would want moose at the moment, so many fitness problems.
That actually leaves us in a decent position for the Championship. We'd need to bring in a couple of midfielders obviously and a centre back. As good as Egan is, he's probably the easiest of the three to replace, as it's a more conventional position.
Our striking options all have excellent records in Championship too. McBurnie 31 in 59, Brewster 10 in 20, Sharp got 23 in his last season in the championship.
I'm not going to say anything silly like we piss the league, but we've got some players who are proven to be excellent at that level. We could very well be much stronger than we were 2 years ago.
we may not lose loads of players (joc/Egan/berge/mouse) but we’re just as likely to do a Sunderland or Huddersfield than this years relegated side next time out.
We can’t score - don’t really see that changing a level below either. And I’m Not sure I trust the recruitment team either to replace what we lose after the last 3/4 windows
