Well done United on their stance after a worrying period when I thought they might be using the government handouts

YES Blade and Hamburger seem to be quite quiet about that

Great move by Sheffield United FC. The fans should be proud.

Not sure what point you are trying to make regarding my post?
Just that the story you doubted turned out to be rock solid. Not the biggest issue by any means, like

What more is there to say? I’ve made my point, I still don’t have an issue if the club chooses to obtain a government grant to cover wages. But if the club want to fund these wages by other means, that’s up to the powers that be.

It deserves praise, and you’ve gone missing. That’s what more there is to say.

I'm sure he vouched for it on here, knowing it was 100% accurate rather than waiting for clarification. Surely.....

Of course there's absolutely no proof that at the time of Shield's post his comments were correct, as it appears it was an ongoing issue for the club.

Ask the people who got letters saying they were being furloughed on the morning of the story 👍🏻

Quiet about what? What on earth are you on about?

It appears then that the club changed their mind sometime AFTER the JS tweet. Will anyone put their name to that as fact?

Incidentally, the tweet says the club placed some staff on furlough to protect the club's financial stability but then goes on to say they will all be paid in full. How does that work?

The club pay 100% wages so nobody loses out.

HMRC pay 80% back a bit later, treated as income and fully taxable. Any first, second or even third rate accountant knows this.

Tut tut Sean Thornton

Dear me, its getting to be hard work with you. Casual and some other staff being put on furlough is hardly likely to tip the club over the edge when player wages are so much higher.

Even third raters know that much and don't even have to look at the accounts to prove it.

You asked how does it work.

I told you.

You've got all knickers in a twisty.

Sad day. I expected more and was hoping to read it all in the accounts.

Did you get out of the wrong side of the Shackleton's high seat chair this morning?

Believe it or not I know how it works. I've spent hours on the phone everyday explaining it to clients and/or watching webinars. Where information is available that is, including an , "my mate in Barnsley has got his ten grand already why haven't I".

"Well you're in Chesterfield and maybe your mate has actually applied for it"

"Haven't you done it for me?"

"Have you asked me too"

Etc etc

The Shackleton is working fine but the arms get in the way when exercising playing Tiger Woods golf on the Wii.

And before you mock l play on the big courses from the black tees.

OK it's the mail, but it's no surprise that fans get confused when the journalists (and I'm not meaning Neville) don't understand the difference between furlough and JRS.

Now that the coaching staff agreed I’d fully expect the players to be not too far behind.
