Worked 100x better with Davies today.
So composed on the ball, and you have to love his tenacity. Learning on the job is always tough, and he's under huge pressure and scrutiny, I'm over the moon with him today.

What he is achieving as a 20 year old in his first year of professional Championship football is outstanding. Going under the radar for me.

Think he's going under the radar regards the context of this being his break though season
and him being thrown in the deep end (sink or swim) and forced to play every match.

He's contributed well but of course Vini Souza, Davies and Arblaster are above him.
He's still young though and showing he'll have a good career in the game at a decent level.
Also agree he has addition qualities (not just talent) to his game, impressed with his tenacity, confidence and will to win.
The bits that let him down are he lacks pace and finds it hard to mark/ stick with tricky players.

My worry is someone may take a punt on our promising under the radar 4th choice midfielder. He’s actually the one I’d target as an investment for a Prem team.

If you said to me in the summer he’d be a midfield mainstay, Seriki was our reserve right back, Ryan One would start games, and we’d have 5 academy kids on the bench, I’d have thought we’d be in serious serious trouble.

We’re top of the league. It’s mental.

Absolutely, learning well from having a decent player at the side of him. Don’t know why people compare him and Oli,two totally different players in movement, passing, going forward and when to defend.

100%.. to say he’s come in to replace one of the best talents we have, I think he’s done fantastic. Never shirks, never wilts, always offers an out ball and isn’t afraid to run/tackle and try to set us on the attack. Done fantastic and looks a real prospect. Think folk forget he’s 20 years old, playing his first year of actual men’s football (that’s being played at the top of the championship)

Didn’t see the game today. Does it look like he plays better when he’s got a ball player (Davies) alongside him rather than a player breaking things up (Souza) then? Always felt like expecting him to take on the ball playing burden that Arblaster had was asking a lot and wondered if Davies might help lighten the load a bit.

Noticeable today that Peck took on the ‘Souza’ role of shielding the defence, taking first possession and pinging rapid passes side to side from a slightly more withdrawn position. Davies played the ‘Blaster’ role - slightly ahead, looking to turn and drive up the pitch by carrying and taking more risks on his passing.

Worked well for both in my opinion. Peck’s form has dropped for the last few games (understandable peaks and trough for a 20 year old) although he never stopped battling. But today he looked a good player at this level. Strong, combative, solid first touch and awareness. Plus has a lovely ping on his passing.

When Souza is fit I’d probably go with Davies and him together for a while as that seems the more natural combination, and peck could do with a rest. But Peck has showed he’s more than capable to play with either and is real competition for both.

As an aside, I really hope we can keep blaster and Sydie around together for a few years. When they’re both 22/23 they’re going to be absolute beasts at this level and potentially even one level up. They complement each other perfectly and it would be amazing to have a central midfield from the academy.

In possession he is fantastic.

Out of possession he works tirelessly and puts his foot in and is aggressive.

Sometimes out of possession he is very naive positionally all over the place. Got things to work on but I’m sure over the coming weeks / months he will improve to be a very good player for us.

I really bloody love him, me. I've said a few times that he was the academy product I wanted us to get right. It's brilliant to see him having a good run of games. It's even better to see the younger lads - involved perhaps through necessity - all comfortably contributing and now being very much part of the rebuild.

With Peck, I just hope we can get to January, add some depth and give him a bit of a rest.

Love this...
