Peck

Wilder chose to start him over bringing hamer into MF and putting a ‘proper winger’ on the left. He’ll do for me.

Thought he was fantastic all things considered

Funny thing is, he reminds me a bit of Tom Davies when he burst onto the scene. Davies was fearless and that made him special. But along the way, probably influenced by injuries, he lost it.
Hopefully Peck can keep that energy. He has that swagger to become a special player.

Thought he was very poor very very poor 4-1 to be booked great odds I thought he loves a tackle surely get booked £20 on the lad,. Let me down big time don't wanna see him wearing the shirt again!!

As for the match he was good didn't look out of place at all and will only get better and better you can tell he just loves to play football, could be an excellent player in a few years time.

A lot of youngsters will get game time this season. It’s good news for them, until we get promoted and they end up as regular starters in EPL.

Arblaster proves the point as the only academy player to break through after a decent season in the Prem. Better for the promising youngsters to get game time with us than have them all loaned out to league one. It worked for Bladter, but how many will make the step up to top level?

He’s an excellent footballer and surprisingly athletic for someone with a fairly ‘gangly’ appearance. Definitely one to watch.

Was great to see 3 academy lads on the pitch for 20 mins today. Brooks and Seriki were good when they came on as well.
Our academy continues to produce. Yes we might sell them. But that's how clubs like generate income.

Unlike some twats nearby.

Great to see us continue to develop talent

Said at the start of the season that these lads should be given a chance despite the loan out em out to LG 1 brigades pleas
To have half a dozen youngsters as valuable squad members is more exciting than getting prompted back. Up. The pain mer league
I was part of the aforementioned brigade and must admit I was wrong on this occasion!

Would still like to see this. Getting Hamer on the ball as much as possible has to happen. The amount of time the ball wasn't near him Saturday was frustrating.

Hamer can do things none of the other midfielders can with the ball.

I agree 100% with this.

I'd like to see O'Hare given a rest and used as an impact sub.

Brooks - Hamer - JRS has to be worth a look

I thought given the opposition and the fact that Derby have tended to sit back and surrender possession that he may have started Brooks on the left and dropped Hamer alongside Vini. Suspect it may have been a flip of a coin decision but Peck did well for me so can see him sticking with that for a bit. I did think we looked better with Seriki and Brooks down the right than Gilchrist and Rucksack but probably because the game was being stretched by that time...

yes we are so lucky having a academy which turns out class players year in and year out . One part of our club that does a great job and can not be faulted

My view is, we're winning games relatively comfortably, so why mess with it?

I get that trail of thought and it makes sense.

I think the niggle for me is that Hamer is our best player, one of the best players in the entire league, and he is currently playing out of position. Until we have seen a line up with him in his natural role we can't be certain that the offset is worth it.

The Peck appreciation started when he made his debut as sub against Brentford, when he didn't look out of place or overawed at PL level.
There was one after he ran the game v Millwall in the Youth Cup and then did a Panenka in the penalty shootout into the top corner.

He’s doing everything right so far and long may it continue. The next jump for him will be showing he can really get on the ball and dictate a game. He’s certainly got it in him technically his long and short passing is excellent. Hopefully it’ll come as he gets more familiar with his colleagues and playing at this level.

Wilder has liked in the pastto have that midfielder who can put their foot on the ball and really control the pace of the match speeding us up when we wanted to apply pressure in spells and slowing us down at times to take the sting out of period where the opposition we’re looking to apply pressure of their own. Whilst we have a very talented midfield and not to overlook any of them including Blaster I’m not sure any quite have that skill set Peck could very much develop into that player.

Noticed that Arblaster always shows for the ball wanting to take it off the defenders, then he does his party piece which is a 180 degree turn with the ball at his feet in one smooth quick movement, where as Peck was pretty static in the centre circle waiting for the ball to come to him.

Thought he played a few misplaced passes in the 1st half, altho to be honest our whole midfield was a bit disjointed and struggling to command the game. Second half much better from everyone. You can see Peck has quality but I also like his battling attitude and wanting to win personality.

Not really sure how you have 70% possession with a disjointed midfield??
He was more box to box for me than 'static'. Brilliant skill to set up O'Hare in first 5 mins, could have scored 2 or 3 in the 2nd half. The chance he created for himself in the box was brilliant.

From watching him this season my first impression was the similarity between Arblaster & Peck. Thought first touch & movement are from the same mould (maybe from playing together).

Not sure sure why there is any critical analysing of best 19yr old debutant I can remember.

Even likes a good tackle!!!

Yeah possibly.

My thinking is that SPs pathway is currently blocked by 2 deeper lying midfielders that do, barring injury or suspension, pick themselves.

So it’s a bit of a waste.

Vini be suspended soon enough so let’s pray Blaster isn’t out through injury for too long !!

UTB
Realistically only having 3 players covering 2 positions means Peck will get plenty of minutes this season

Championship schedules dictate you have to tinker eventually, it's not really a slight on the player. 3 games in a week coming up.

Brooks has looked great all season and Rak-Sakyi I think should be persisted with as a starter, so Brooks on left, RS on right and bringing Gus central would seem a logical thing to test.

It definitely doesn't look bad on paper.
