Tough, calm, passionate, and touch of class. He's going to be some player
He's one of these players that fans love .When you consider his lack of experience he was man of match for me.
A future captain if I ever saw one ! Great attitude, out and out winner! not fazed by anything.
Add his ability on the ball !
Wow some player in the making.
I think Arsenal made a big mistake allowing us to buy him as a kid.

No love for Peck so far ? A little surprised. He got better as the game went on . Very solid performance
I mean this with no disrespect to the lad but it was just a standard okay championship midfield performance. Which is some achievement in your first league start! The level he has is exceptional for his age and looked calm and collected.

But if he is to stand out in the championship you’re usually a £20m player like Arblaster. Peck isn’t there yet but he’s got the best coaches around and looks like a starting line up for a few weeks. It’s a great opportunity for him.

He’s good, but miles off Souza. Souza walks in to every team in this league and would be a star player. Peck is miles away from that.
Not sure that's true. Souza is great without the ball, but on it he often looks a little lost. Peck looks way more likely on the ball, but off it he gas work to do to be on Vinis level.
Having said that, I thought Souza was up there for MOM yesterday.

clearly got all the attributes to be a very good player.
The test will be consistency and adapting his game when things aren’t going well, and that will only come with experience. Normally you’d suggest a loan out to a club with less pressure of a big crowd and expectations of challenging at the top however what he has also shown is a huge amount of confidence in himself perhaps bordering on arrogance…and that’s not a bad thing for a football player if they are to succeed.
He maybe brought that with him from being at one of the best academies in the world prior to United, but it’s certainly led to him just dropping in completely unfazed and doing a good job.

It’s easy to recognise that like Blaster if he continues to develop at the pace he has recently and improves even further with the first team experience he will get here then we will probably have a fair few clubs and scouts lining the stands to have a look!

But if we could just hold out and keep those 2 young lads until they peak (mid 20’s) we may well have our record player sales on our hands with both possibly making international level.

Peck was neat and tidy didn’t do anything wrong and didn’t do anything great either… exactly what you would expect from a young lad making his way in the game

But but but, he needs a League One loan. Gerrim playing proper man's football. Send him to League One....

Maybe, just maybe, the hard of thinking whose default to any young player is gerrim loaned out, need to have a long hard think about things. You know who you are...

And maybe it should be treated as a’case by case’ basis. Some are ready, some are not

I think it’s horses for courses isn’t it. If players aren’t going to get game time with us then loaning them out is absolutely the right thing to do.

And the next time the gerrim in brigade hype up a younger and they end up in non league, loads of people will be on here making condescending posts about people like you.

Or, we all accept that it's a call. It's impossible to know for sure with any player, loads of context is needed. Does the player want to play every week? Do they fit the system we play? How many players are in the queue ahead of them? Etc.

Peck held is own. That is fantastic for him and us. Not so long ago we would have thrown an old has been into the fray, to see young talent developing is a joy to watch.

You can tell he wants it big style - and he's got oodles of talent- THIS IS SOOOO MUCH BETTER THAN LAST SEASON- THANK GOD.

Souza and Arblaster is still our best midfield pairing, but having this lad as an option from the bench is going to be important this season.

His shooting does need a bit of work but cannot recall him missing the target on any of his chances today.

I'm not sure yet.

We're going to get to see Peck & Souza a little more now and I think they provide a lot of cover defensively. Maybe the best combination will prove to be those two, with Arblaster eventually pushed a little further up?

We’ve talked about this before and as you say, it’s madness.

It’s been obvious with Peck that he needs Championship level football. Can’t see a league one loan doing anything but hold him back. Arblaster was recalled early because he was ready, I saw no need to get him out on loan after that cup performance.

He needs to be around better players and to be challenging himself against those players when his chance comes, takes it.

You say unsurprising, which I get, but it’s a serious ask for any kid to come out of the U21s (with just few men’s games at Oldham), and look comfortable at this level.

We’ve had loads of academy lads go on to have lower league careers, but the odds of producing multiple players of this standard at once…. It’s magnificent.
Another top quality product from our fantanstic Academy . The Academy is our ace in the pack providing us with superb younguns that should save us millions in the transfer market (providing we don't sell them ). They are the clubs future and it looks so good having a constant flow of talent that it has been providing for years . Just hope the club keeps tabs on the younguns contrats.

The key to that is promotion and staying in the prem

Sharing the pitch and winning games with lads you’ve spent the last few years with in the academy must be a fantastic feeling. To go with their talent, they seem like a really decent bunch of lads. Love the celebration from Peck on the final whistle yesterday, they should enjoy it and drive each other on

Record sales! Fuck off. Keep um and build..

Even though I said his shooting could do with some improvement earlier on this thread, he did the best he could with that last chance he had yesterday as the initial pass forced him a bit too wide.

Had he been more central for that chance he might well have scored as he would have had more of the goal to aim at, rather than being restricted to aiming for the top corner of the near post which their keeper had covered.

Probably the biggest compliment he could be given is that this thread isn't about the loss of Blaster. I for one was concerned when my mate got a msg before the team was announced saying Blaster wouldn't be playing. Well done Sydie for stepping up. 👍 👏

We are watching a different game. A 19yr old starting his first ever League game, made 1 mistake in the whole game, created chances from 1st to last minute, passed well, demanded the ball & used it well. Could have scored a couple.

Superb debut

With him coming through arsenals set up and having big British and European clubs aware of him, they will be keeping an eye on his progress. Great decision by him to leave arsenal to come to us, to have a chance of 1st team football and hopefully fire us up the league.
Let’s enjoy him while we can

Another impressive performance, backing up that Wrexham game, looked comfortable against Derby...not counting the Barnsley game as Coulibally went awol.
Gets around the pitch well good range of passing,he looks like he's got a goal in him, likes a tackle and doesn't lack confidence...loved that Currie esque chipped pass into Mooore first half while being closed down, although came to mothhing...Great seeing these young lads come through.

If we had a deeper squad he would have gone out on loan to L2/L1.

The fact we don't have a deep squad may just work out best for Peck, he does not look out of place at this level so far and with a run in the team he could look excellent at this level.

Noticed that Arblaster always shows for the ball wanting to take it off the defenders, then he does his party piece which is a 180 degree turn with the ball at his feet in one smooth quick movement, where as Peck was pretty static in the centre circle waiting for the ball to come to him.

Thought he played a few misplaced passes in the 1st half, altho to be honest our whole midfield was a bit disjointed and struggling to command the game. Second half much better from everyone. You can see Peck has quality but I also like his battling attitude and wanting to win personality.

The Peck appreciation started when he made his debut as sub against Brentford, when he didn't look out of place or overawed at PL level.
