Why can’t we have some areas in the ground, that never fill, or sell out last (KF1, BU1) for POTG supporters. A turnstile for each area that accepts credit cards so you just stick your card in and are allocated a seat.

Club need to know who is in the ground is a poor excuse, you’ve used your card, and if it’s a stolen card, plod know where the person who used it is for the next 90 minutes so win win.

Problems with away supporters in home areas? Not considered this much, any comments? Just can’t see away fans traveling on the off chance that the POTG area isn’t sold out, and the turnstiles could be properly policed for sensitive games.

You've partly answered your own question. Extra costs incurred in turnstiles operators and then banking cash. Mainly away fans getting in though as you've already alluded to.

Since 2023 all public spaces are subject to the Protect legislation, also known as Martin's law, or the terrorism bill. Going back to pay on the gate would be incredibly difficult to implement, public protection procedures will require the club to know exactly who is in the ground and where they are supposed to be sitting/standing.

I would guess there is an enormously high correlation between those who are too lazy to spend two minutes on the internet buying a ticket as it is now, with those who would go into KF1 under your proposal but stand at the back and get the Kop shut again

The days are gone unfortunately when you could walk up to the turnstiles and pay to enter the ground. Health and safety will be all over it. name and address are needed away fans with no chance of getting in more coppers etc. The club should remove the stupid policy of one ticket per customer whatever they call it.I am a pensioner I have broadband in less than five min. I can go on our ticketing website and pick my seat at the back of the Kop, pay by debit card, my ticket is delivered to my email address then I can print my ticket. I have never had a problem getting into the ground I pay on a match-by-match basis because I could not afford a season ticket at the time.nice and easy.

There is an old boy who goes in my local who found trying to obtain a ticket was so confusing he has not been to any matches this year . There must be more oldies who are not very good on the internet even some who have not got the internet who are now stay at home fans .

I believe the powers that be view football supporters differently to cricket supporters.

I know someone who used to make a profit going to watch the other lot. As the turnstiles were so dark he'd always pay with fake £20 notes that he bought for a fiver each, it was £24 a ticket at the time so made £6 a match.

Apparently counterfeit money was a real problem for football clubs.
