Hes put himself in the shop window for all to see so far, loyalty means nothing in football, like Brewster, Jebbo, Ndiaye etc, if they want to go,theyll go

Disagree. He's performed beyond expectation and more than repaid the "faith" we showed in him. If we wanted him until the end of the season then we should have offered him that contract in the first place. Clearly we wanted a cheap way out if it didn't come off.
He was a risk, he has a poor recent injury and goal scoring record, nobody else wanted him, we signed him. The deal suited both us and him. The fact is we were the only club willing to pay him up until January, he knows that and we know that, so yes if he has any sense of loyalty he will sign a new deal.

If he’s been as good for him as he has for us, why does he still owe us?
I really don’t understand why loyalty is judged by some fans in such an unbalanced fashion. We didn’t offer him a longer contract so in many ways we didn’t believe in him so why now he’s done as much, if not more than was asked, does he owe us?
It seems like we’re in a position of our own making and hopefully we find a path of mutual gratification.
Our initial lack of conviction is going to cost us though, but I would suspect but thats the risk isn’t it? We’ve certainly been on the end of offer longer deals that never pay off.
But what evidence is there to suggest we should have believed in him? He has barely played in years and his goal scoring record is poor recently. Show me the evidence

Would'nt be surprised if he gets himself a better deal elsewhere....what do the dimwits who sign Cannon for 10m who is basically not fit to clean Bamfords boots plan to offer him to stay....my guess a couple of cream eggs.

I work with loads of Leeds lads and I've heard some good stories about him off the pitch. He went to a school in a poor area of Leeds and bought all the pupils a iPad. And he put a load of money behind bar at The Peacock boozer outside their ground. Can't help but like the kid around the team.

It’s a risk in putting our eggs in one basket in terms of wages although we potentially are freeing up wages from the loan players. Bamford was reportedly on £70,000 a week at Leeds when they gave him a better deal, even initially he was on £35,000 a week there. I am not sure what he is on with his short term deal with us but possibly justified to the end of the season if he is prepared to
play for less but we can’t justify a long term deal given his age and the fact it’s one player. We probably looking at £40-50k a week

His style of play and attributes have always been the same as has his technical proficiency.
We didn’t believe in him to give a 2-3 year deal out, which is perfectly fine but he doesn’t then owe us a thing. 5 goals in 8 suggest he’s more than delivered his end of any deal so why does he owe us?
If we want to keep him, now we have to pay his market value which is higher than it was.

There's not been any rumours of a nice elsewhere though has there or have I got that wrong?

He was offered a contract with a Spanish club, ( Getafe ) and MLS but turned down in favour of us, but sees that as his last opportunity to play abroad and may well take up the offer as it appeals to him and his family.
Source; Google Patrick bamford abroad.

I think he'll stay till the end of the season because he's said how the location near Leeds is a major bonus. I'm not so sure he'll want to stay next season like Rideweld has as an option but if we can keep him till the end of the season then if we do well then he might stay longer. Probably have to go up mind but I'm still if the belief well push play offs this season.

Hi Booker. i reckon his love-in with Wilder will be a big factor in him staying. Not sure about the play-offs though. Ithink our inconsistency will do us up like a kipper.

You are entitled to your own opinion but I disagree

think it depends on what salary he is after if we can afford him we should go all out to get him on a longer deal it looks like hes enjoying his football here and working with wilder get rid of ings to free some capital up its not working for him with us

I can’t see where anyone has said that. Does it perhaps only exist in your head?
A few on here said it but the best was Daz on RS who said his 2 mates were going to return their season tickets and never return if we signed him !!!
