Oyston out

My old house mate at uni is a massive Blackpool fan and sent me this if you're interested in knowing more;

We ought to get behind it. We had some shocking chairman in the past with Paul Woolhouse, Mike McDonald etc along with the Sam Houshimi saga. Its nothing compared to what they are having to put up with.

and don't forget McCabe;)

Bit pointless really IMO. To what end? It's not gonna get any publicity. Really can't see more than a handful of Blades going out of their way to remember doing something a bit useless in the 53rd minute.

Fully sympathise with them, but got other priorities tomorrow, soz.

Btw, see that the Posh chairman's been defending the Oysters on twatter:
"I think the Oystons have given club great times/stability so maybe deserve little more patience. Just a little :) "
Stability??

I really can't understand what makes Coventry and Blackpool think they're special. We've had shit owners over the years and probably worse than blackpool. Christ, we've been down in this division with apparently better owners whilst the oystens took Blackpool to the PL and back.

I remember a night match and Micalijo posted a match report before the end of the game, we were losing heavily to Blackpool. I doubt that Blackpool fans would've joined our plight to chant McCabe out that night!

Blackpool fans turned up in (relative) numbers in the premier league and as I've said before, they were quite happy to enjoy their time with Oysten in the PL.

So if it was Rochdale or another club that's struggled I'd perhaps back it, but not a club like Blackpool.

None of our owners have been convicted rapists.

People get the politicians they deserve. And as a whole, football fans get the ownership they deserve.

Oyston out.

I'm not sure the two are comparable, there's no democratic process for getting a new owner. A club could end up with any old cuntbubble (and they frequently do) through no fault of the fans.

I don't mind it away from home as it sends out a statement but at home, it seems to be sung with less enthusiasm and ends up, IMO being a bit dreary.

And don't even get me started on the intro when Annie's Song is played
I don't mean to keep going on about it, but give this video a go.
Drag the video to 2min 50sec.
It gives me goosebumps and that's from an away fans perspective

I'm amazed a Charlton fan took that video, considering he/she must've been as sick as the proverbial parrot at the time.
Still, great to see and hear the GCB sung with a full house from the away end.

I agree - I'm not suggesting one club's set of fans earn their owners. Football fans as a single entity in England are whores to Sky, and in many ways are acting non-collectively and are unwilling to sacrifice their own position for the greater good of the sport. It's a rat race.

The German model is much appealing to me. I'd love to see Dortmund beat Chelski, for instance.

So yup, I'm joining in with Oyston out.

I'm a really bad loser, which is odd, you'd think I'd got used to it by now.
However I do remember staying behind on one occasion to listen to the Birmingham fans sing their anthem (which I can't remember for the life of me)
I love the GCB, it's probably in the top 3 reasons I'm proud of our club, and regardless of what any fan says I guarantee 99% of away fans envy us for it.

Very true, nobody would ever stay behind to witness "Hi Ho Sheffield W*******y"

Probably because everyone knows it's nicked off Wolves.

I'll gladly join in with some Oyston abuse at todays game, BUT at the end of the match not half way through it. My focus is totally on the RAWW during the game.

Agree. The only difference between Blackpool and Burnley is that they both earned a fortune in their one-and-only season in the PL, went down without a fight and spent fuck all on their dilapidated grounds. Oyston bragged about it, Burnley kept quiet.

hope they aint out with the begging buckets like rovrum were, fuck em,

Thought that was Wednesday? :D

Now they are feeling the pain has anyone of them pointed out how they've supported other clubs fans in trouble?
I remember joining in with Rotherham fans singing Boothy out but that is it and it seemed like more of a laugh and banter at the time.
Can the opening poster send this thread to them to show them the extent of the support they are likely to receive.

I think the biggest thing that I've taken from this thread is that some Blades think YFUMS is dreary!

Genuinely disappointed in some of the responses on this thread.

What has happened to Blackpool and the way the owners treat their fans and club pales any of our ownership issues in the past into insignificance. Yes I want us to stuff Blackpool 4 nowt but also there is a time when we should have some solidarity with fellow fans, especially in this scenario.

There but for the grace of god and all that, genuinely suprised by the lack of empathy and support on here, especially as we are all football fans we essentially share all the same passions and motivations. I hope we get it going.

Keep right on to the end of the road

Absolutely spot on.

I'd don't even like Blackpool that much, but there's a bigger picture.

If Oyston was 'out' they'd be a bigger challenge to us this season. Keep him I'd say :)

I've got a mate who's a Blackpool fan and I made my point to him as we were at Uni together back when Blackpool were in the 3rd/ 4th division. As I said, they weren't boycotting in the premier league were they? He seemed to think not.

The only thing we share with Blackpool is football, football is not one big family, if it is its Family of bastard kids that don't like each other.

Were Sheffield United, we stand alone

Wow Swizzler! :)

When they were in the 3rd before, the owner hadn't paid himself a £10m bonus and allowed the club to go into free fall. It's surely a bit different now?

We may all by rivals, but there's nothing wrong with some solidarity with fellow football fans who are being shafted.
