I’ve been watching United for 45 years and I have to say this team is absolutely dreadful.

It’s as though the players are thinking…..a draw wouldn’t be a bad result….so no need to take risks.
Let’s be honest here….Oxford look really low quality and have hardly threatened…
.however the worrying thing is they seem harder working and more up for it than us.

I doubt he would with our lack of service and quality
He wouldnt as he wouldtnt get any service ffs 🤣
At least you can go long to him he guaranteed wins a few headers get bodies around him

Campbell is like a training cone and bringing Cannon on means the white flag is out

None of our strikers have any outstanding attributes. They’re not quick, tall, strong or able to dribble past a man. Same with the wingers and most of our players.

Just average (at best) at everything

Soumare looks whacked, Peck looks dreadful. If Tom Davies is only 25% fit he needs to enter the fray.

Oxford are the better side, with a lot more threat. Our midfield look overrun again, theres no ball control, easy passes are going astray, no convincing tackles, and no real pattern to our play, but we're not losing.

Can't keep blaming Selles. The players are grown adults, professional footballers, they need to start playing like it and stop sulking like.fckin toddlers
Very true. Now moving forward they need to step up but how this has happened in such a short amount of time is (if it was any other team) fascinating.

Pecks playing awful, can't understand why Soumare is playing wideish left most of the time. How can Campbell shoot wide from the centre of the goal 6 yards out !!.
In short that was bobah.

What Selles did to this team will be studied on coaching courses for generations.
Absolute madness to blame this on Selles alone.

This is what we were like a lot of games last season see our form post Coventry (H) and many games we scraped before that.

We were right to go away from Wilder but wrong to get Selles. Both can be true

there have been some bright spells when it worked but for majority. we have been far too poor in possession, Turnover far too easy. dreadful passing & defensive clearances that just go straight back to Oxford for another wave

where has last seasons campbell gone. i was saying on the drive here. he's gone from 1 of best in championship to last week. not even being the best person called tyrese campbell on the pitch

Is it 4-2-3-1 or 3-5-1-1 or something like?
It's a mess, not sure the players even know really.

Whenever we defend Tanganga, McGuinness and Mee form a very narrow middle three, with Ogbenie and Burrows also tucked in a bit at full back, so a back five that still leaves acres of space out wide to get a cross in.

In attack, Ogbene is usually missing as he's been back defending, O'Hare is running around up front but never in a position to link up with Cambell, Hamer is strolling around 50 yards further back and occasionally filling in at right back if Ogbene does push forward. Peck and Soumare are in what I'm guessing is supposed to be in a flat three with Gus but are mostly just giving it away, more of a double Monty than a double pivot.

The main issue under Selles was the midfield didn't function, protect the defence or create anything, Wilder has managed to reinvent it so that is doesn't function, protect the defence or create anything in a completely different way.
