He’s in the middle of complex litigation. He’ll have received advice not to say anything that will prejudice his case. I think that if he said he actually to wants to own the ground, he’s just pretending he doesn’t to get out of paying for it at market value, it may be seen as prejudicial.
So McCabe should have thought about a situation where his business partner reneges on a deal five years down the line. Interesting. Makes you wonder how business ever gets done. HRH is no Hashimi, Woolhouse, Columbotti etc, whatever anyone may think of him at the moment.
You said you wouldn't be watching us anyway Snooty. Where's the problem?
Agree. Not sure what the Prince intentions are and would worry about him getting some control but this court case and the uncertainty that comes with it is very much down to McCabe. He brokered the partnership and now it is a mess. It was MCCabe who signed off the deal back in 2013 was it and the various clauses. Some one on his side has dropped the ball big time and now we are open to 2 or 3 years of court wrangling that could see us lose our best manager for a long time and maybe all hope of returning to the top table of English football.
Like with the majority of abysmal managerial decisions (Weir, Adkins, Adams et) and CEO/staff appointments (Robinson, Birch, Winter) he has made mistake after mistake. The Wilder appointment might be the only big positive move he has made since we went down. Wilder has got him out of the cart. Most other key decisions have been disastrous.
Sorry, my first reply was a bit shit. Thinking it through, it seems a very fair offer from KM. The Prince has never paid for half ‘the club’ if you see the club as the team plus the built assets. So, essentially KM is giving away the half of the built assets, by reducing the share price.Surely the valuation of the club is only £30 million. The 2 x £5 million plus £20 million for Lane, Shirecliffe etc.
It also raise the question of where we'll play long-term if the Prince owns the club but McCabe retains the ground.and training facilties.
With all the fuck ups he's made, it makes you wonder how he made his millions.
The bloke’s trying to lift McCabe’s leg FFS. What do you expect him to say, ‘yeah, once I’ve shafted McCabe I’ll have enough cash to keep us going for a while, I might even get uncle Faisal to put in few quid’.But McCabe is involved in the same case and has at least come out to say all is not well. We've known this for months because he let us know.
Even prior to all of this, Phipps left his post and since then I can't recall any significant communication to the fans from HRH's side about anything, bar the appearance from the Prince when we came up from L1.
He doesn't have to say anything about the case per se but as I've said, this is a guy who wants to own and run our club. What does he want to do? Pump cash in and get us up in a season? Sell us off to some other bugger and make an extra couple of million without caring who we're sold to? Build slowly and create a legacy?
When talk about 'manouvers' and the like pop up without us hearing that side of things, we as fans have to question motives based on the information we've received.
Sadly, that’s probably our best hope and the most realistic suggestion I’ve read on here.£57 million on the Euromillions tomorrow I think, why don't we all give Foxy £2.50 each and have him set up a syndicate.
If we win we'll buy both the fuckers out.
ie none .. diesn’t exactly come across as engaged does he?When talk about 'manouvers' and the like pop up without us hearing that side of things, we as fans have to question motives based on the information we've received.
Is he, how?
Morally ??Esa, you can't help yourself can you?
Legally, the Prince MAY be correct
Morally, he APPEARS to have pulled a fast one
I’m really struggling to understand which bit you don’t get. Of course KM is going to say stuff to appease us because it benefits him to look like the ‘good guy’. His whole case is based on trying to show that the Prince is a duplicitous cunt doing duplicitous acts.
I don't think anyone can say he is not a Hashimi, Woolhouse or Colombotti? We have no idea. In 5 years he has said sweet FA. McCabe said how this change would see a big upturn and spoke about investment and it being game changing.
In reality we have seen little to no more investment, total disinterest from one co owner to the point he never even comes to watch us play. McCabe signed off on the deal with the Prince. I am not sure how much he knew about him at all and now this gamble has backfired on him and us. The Prince is buying up clubs in Belgium and previously wanted to buy Leeds.
I am not sure he has any real long term interest in us. We are just another club in his portfolio. Yet McCabe is ultimately the guy who got into bed with him. This isn't just about any reneging on a deal (Courts will decide If that was the case) but the fact is McCabe has sold 50% of our club to someone who could now take over and could do anything (sell the ground, change the name). Maybe he had no idea it woild come to this 5 years ago but it seems another mistake/gamble that has left us in a mess. McCabe blames bad luck, Tevez or Ched in court but never accepts that he keeps appointing people who are not positively driving change from a co owner to some shambolic CEO's to Managers.

Yeah, I know you do, we all do but he’s not going to tell us. I’m just explaining why I think he won’t, and he can’t, until the case is over. What has he said to appease us, exactly? He's told us that the relationship has gone sour and that it's going to litigation. That's it. It's not like McCabe has publicly accused him of being a snake and slagged him off to high heaven. The only thing making McCabe look like the good guy is the fact that there's no communication from HRH's side.
All we can go on is the court statement from today and from a Sheffield United fan's point of view it doesn't look good. Come out and say otherwise, Mr. Prince?
I'm not some huge McCabe fan backing him all the way. I just want to know what this dude who wants to own our club intends to do with it!
Does that mean I'm not allowed an opinion? Only the bigger Blades allowed to speak now? Anyway, I've already paid for my ST so I'll be there in the attendance figures whether I go or not.
What really amuses me is that you, apparently, along with quite a few others are getting all irate because one multi-millionaire is attempting to stiff another multi-millionaire. Naturally, the alliance is being formed along the lines of "one of our own" vs some nasty Arab who doesn't know the name of the street behind the kop. One of them is a proven failure and the other we know little about so I'm open minded about him. As I've said before, I don't give a fuck who outmanoeuvres who, it aint my money. The club is vastly more important than either of them.
I doubt if it will be that lengthy.Case closed unfortunately.
From what I’ve read the only way McCabe can win this is the threat of a lengthy expensive court case ( which he’s doing) and by getting the fans up against Princey to make Princeys position/ownership untenable.
P.S- Is it ‘pulling a fast one’ or simply ‘business’?
but he’s not going to tell us
At least if the Prince gets the club on the cheap he will have more money to spend on players.
I bet he knows how much each individual player is worth.Would love to ask the Prince who plays left side of defence for Utd ,who was our manager in 1970 or whats the road called behind the Kop. He wouldn't have a fucking clue and no interest in learning either.
McCabe says that this is against the spirit of the agreement
Prince says that this is not his problem and he's complying with the letter of the agreement
