The likes of Dewhurst, Gordon, Lopata, Boyes, Gomis, Neal, Seriki are all going to be 20/21 years old next season. If they are going to make it at this club they need to be pushed into the first team set up for pre season. Gives the likes of Arblaster, MaGuire, Peck, Hackford and Lankshear more chances to play regularly in the u23s and aid their development.
I'd say those listed first up all need meaningful league loans if they are going to step into the breach when the current seniors outlive their usefulness.

Those younger ones need to be in and around the first team, training with them. Take the occasional 6 weeks in Non League here or there to help advance them. I can see a couple breaking through.

Wonder if we can get any of the older ones in at Barnsley? League One would be a good test and experience for the likes of Lopata. Hecky must have contacts there, although I know they have their model for recruitment, so perhaps this wouldn’t fit.

Big fan of arblaster. Will make a career in football whether that’s here, higher up or lower down. Can imagine training with the likes of norwood and fleck will have done him the world of good at such a young age.

Some superb names in there.

Divin Mubama and Jude Soonsup-Bell are fantastic.
I agree. What a marvelous opportunity to celebrate our diverse, multi cultural society. It does you credit that you feel they are fantastic names. Not too long ago, it'd be all - giggle, giggle, sounds a bit foren.

He first trained with the first team when he was 16, almost 2 years ago. Hecky loves him. Glandular fever held him back this season & delayed his international debut. I expect him to break into the first team next season.

The way Everton have 'managed Anthony Gordon's progress so far is the blueprint for how to manage a special youngsters career. Got an early debut (beat Rooney's record I think) continued to progress throught their youth teams, a loan at Preston then first team.

Thought Arblaster showed how to do it as a young player coming into the first team in today's friendly. He played his normal role, constantly showed for the ball and tried to do something constructive with it, i.e. often passing it forward to teammates running into good positions. He's got the skill and composure to receive the ball under a bit of pressure and keep it moving. His playmaking was reminiscent of Norwood's at times, but Arblaster looks better at getting out of tight areas.

Great eye for a pass and love how he could take it on the turn from deep. Could become a very handy player indeed.

Hecky pretty much said he will be a Sheffield United first teamer at some point soon.

This mornings article suggesting he may not let him out on loan this season and said that if he continues to shine, could force his way into the starting 11.

I do know that there are a number of clubs after him on loan, so keep up the good work Ollie lad and see if you can get into the side. At 18, would be a remarkable feat with the size and quality of squad vying for places.

Wouldn't surprise me. He's one of those that's really looked the part, he's looked miles ahead of Fleck for example.

I don’t actually think arblaster needs a loan. It’s clear that he doesn’t need to understand the game any more. In regards of positioning and stuff with the ball I think he’s a first team player. He just needs to get stronger as should be expected for someone his age

I don't see why he can't start, if he is good enough and the evidence so far is, that he may well be. Tonge, Monty and Jags all made their debuts for us at 18 or less, in midfield (Jags did get moved around positions a bit, but you get my point).

He'll inevitable have some poor games, if he does. But then again, not many players don't. Fleck has been largely anonymous for 2 years now, so I am hoping someone like Doyle or Arblaster can get a chance here.
