Oh dear, Jimmy Hagen and Ted Burgin most be turning in their graves... With the greatest respect to them both. Yes many of you may never heard of them, as a young lad I used to them, so yes I've been a SUFC supporter for a few years. I was so impressed last year and hope they will be able to gain that credability back again. Come on Chris!!

Nice post Terry. I don't think we've lost credibility pal, just a goalscorer and a bit of confidence. Rough start but I don't personally think we're a million miles away. UTB.

We need a Jimmy Dunne

To be fair Terry it would be incredibly difficult to try and match Hagan’s achievements.

It’s not been a great start but this team has done brilliantly - I’ve not been around long enough to see the really great United sides but this one is the best I’ve seen in my time (started watching in 1995).

Keep the faith, Wilder will sort it out!

Hagan must have been constantly rolling around for years until Wilder showed up.

Like me, you will have experienced some bad moments watching United. I always say (if anyone’s prepared to listen!) that once you have seen Utd lose 7-2 at home to Rotherham (December 1956), the rest of life is easy! My first 2 matches at the Lane were 4-3 and 6-3 defeats to Blackpool and Huddersfield (1953); but I have never regretted my commitment to the Blades, though it is not for the glory-hunters!
PS Ted Burgin was in goal for the Rotherham game!
