Could be. It’s a good shout.

I have quite a few old postcards by Furniss, these two I don’t have names for.

Some of the other players featured on the postcards weren’t what you would call ‘regulars’. Which makes the photos even more interesting IMHO.

Yes, Jimmy Waugh who was unlucky not to play in the 1925 FA Cup Final, he had a neck injury. Played over 100 games as our centre back but struggled to cope with the new offside rule introduced in the 1925-26 season.

Yes, reckon photo was taken in early 1920s.

Silent Blade Difficult when there isn't another photo to compare. I have a couple of team photos from early 1920, but I don't see an obvious match for these two.

A more recognisable face, even with hair and in a suit. Nice he signed it though.

This postcard dates from the same time as the one above. The reverse has the same characteristics.

Won FA Cup medal for both 1915 and 1925. Carried on living in Hebburn throughout his playing career but moved to Sheffield after retiring to football as he ran a shop at , I think, Abbeydale Road

Moving on from Chlorine, by 1917 the Germans had Mustard Gas, which was an oily substance that would cling to uniforms and cause agonising blister burns.

How deadly was the poison gas of WW1?

Gas terrified soldiers in WW1, but it killed comparatively few of them, at least on the Western Front. So why was it the one WW1 weapon to be banned?
