Utd v Swindon
3-2
Whoops
1952, Silent may well know the game. Could be game against the pigs in January but can’t find team line up for that game.
More I look at the photo makes me think that’s the Boleyn ground going by the background. Played them 19th Jan then again couple of weeks later in the cup on 2nd Feb. So one of those games.1952, Silent may well know the game. Could be game against the pigs in January but can’t find team line up for that game.
Lost 5-1 at West Ham in January 1952.

What was your house number?I lived on Bramall Lane and our house was demolished for "Road Widening" which never happened!
That can't be right, Tinsley viaduct didn't open until 1968. I think it was the original bit of the M1 up to Rugby that opened in 1959, further North was mid to late 60s
Maybe you were thinking of the FA Cup match in 1968 when many Blades were stuck in the M1 traffic? You’re right . The website I got my original information from is very misleading in that although it has the title ‘ M1 Aston-Sheffield-Leeds Motorway ‘, the dates given for construction refer not to that section but to the one between Luton and Dunchurch .
Both you and Silent Blade are correct with your much later dates and I’m sorry if mine caused any confusion .

Also, Billy looks so angelic, but is this the photo where he had his hand on Jamie's crown jewels?

When I started following football in 1970, I was impressed with my Uncle Ronnie's collection of Charles Buchan's Football Monthly so I "borrowed" a lot of them taking them home but never gave them back to him!The publication I remember most from being a young lad with great affection was Charles Buchan’s Football Monthly.
From being around 9 years old my Dad used to buy it for me every month, even though looking back we were totally skint.
It was a groundbreaking magazine , being in full colour and printed on high quality paper . It contained a wide range of information about all things football and having read every single word of it , I couldn’t wait for the next one to be delivered.
Anyone else remember it ?
