First proper job (after milk rounds and S&E shop work), started in the Fountain Precinct to the left of the top pic.
Remember first away game in Div one 1971 Everton 0.. I was jumping around my Nans house thinking we had managed a 0-0 at Goodison ,it was a couple of minutes before I realised Sheff utd 1Before that it was the Teleprinter, just like a typewriter.
Same here. Used to get sent there once in the week for tea and also had them again on Saturday dinner time before the game. Old Scottish fella that had it then a younger couple took over. Our local chippy as a kid. Shiregreen?
Strangely, I realised what they were doing because as a people they are well documented and I have read and watched accounts of their way of life for most of my life. My attempt at a little humour. As someone on here says "I'll get mi coat".They weren't shielding their mouths, they were ululating. (Look it up on Wikipedia)
Other honourable mentions to the video shop and to shillito’s on other sides of the circle
The sign near Preston wasn't an enamelled, rectangular one as you show but if you could cut the figures and batten out as one, then enlarge the figures to 15 or 20 foot and stick them in a field facing the rail track that was it
Not far from me. Might go and have a moochPoynton cemetery
Strangely enough I can’t recollect that one bud. Which side of the quadrant was it on?Buywise supermarket too
Didn't they use one of these on the 'Wall of Death' in Skeggy? There‘s a motorbike museum in the hills above Benidorm. I’ve been there a few times, it’s small but glorious.

Yes I think he's who we are thinking of, but there was also Tim Gudgin. J A-G was a Scotsman, I believe, if you were checking your pools coupon you didn't need to look at the telly you could tell the result from the tone of his voice, he also gave every team their full title. Happy days, we always had filleted Finney Haddock for tea while the results were onJames Alexander -Gorden? Or was he the radio guy
The quadrant opposite Queenies and the supermarket. See belowStrangely enough I can’t recollect that one bud. Which side of the quadrant was it on?
Can’t place all the shops now as I’m going back 35 +years since I used to go to Queenies. I remember the off licence, where I actually bought by first ever alcohol , 4 cans of stones on NYE 1987 and that was next to shillito
Even closer for me. Could kick a ball and nearly land it in there. Not far from me. Might go and have a mooch
Talking of Scottish sounding people, there was also Sam Leitch's football preview Saturday dinner time.Yes I think he's who we are thinking of, but there was also Tim Gudgin. Sam was actually English.

Many years ago I visited Kenya, beautiful country, Mombasa and Nairobi and into the Rift Valley but never encountered any Massa.
He was on the radio, I remember hearing him being announced then reading out the results on many occasions when boarding the coach home from an away match.James Alexander -Gorden? Or was he the radio guy
I trust it was cooked in milk with a knob of butter and served with a slice of bread and butter.Yes I think he's who we are thinking of, but there was also Tim Gudgin. Can't remember if it was Tim Gudgin or Len Martin. You could always tell from his voice intonation if the away team had won, drawn or lost. Can anyone remember the name of the bloke that did the full time scores . He did it for years without ever missing a Saturday? On the BBC after the old telly printer. The presenter would say over to ....... ? for the final scores.

The 2-1 win then. My first visit to Upton Park also my first away travel by coach organised by the SUSC (Dronfield branch)Photo is dated 6th November 1971.
Congratulations on the photo, excellent you caught things at exactly the right moment, you must be a professional. You would be unlikely to encounter any Maasai 'in the wild' going through this ritual. I photographed this many years ago at a place called Mayers Farm, at the foot of the escarpment, north of Nairobi. They put on a whole Maasai experience for tourists, with a Maasai village, mock battles, etc. I believe it is still in existence, though I can't vouch for it.
Shillito used to live on Godric road, just off Nethershire lane. I think there were three brothers.Same here. Used to get sent there once in the week for tea and also had them again on Saturday dinner time before the game. Old Scottish fella that had it then a younger couple took over.
My mum worked in the shop next door which I think was called Davies.
